Cumberland County authorities have charged a second person in connection with the deadly shooting of a Lake Tansi resident.

Police on Tuesday charged 35-year-old Doneal Clark with one count of first degree murder in the January 19th shooting death of Linda Damewood.

Doneal Clark is the wife of Kirk Douglas Clark, who was arrested last week on charges of first degree murder. Sheriff Casey Cox said officers have developed information that indicated both Doneal Clark and Kirk Clark were responsible for the homicide.

Kirk Clark was arrested January 22nd during a traffic stop at the Interstate Drive Travel Plaza. He’s facing additional charges of possession of a prohibited weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, and altering or forging a vehicle registration.

Officers responded to a reported shooting on Cherokee Trail and found Damewood deceased inside the home. Two other people suffered gunshot wounds.

The investigation continues and additional charges will be sought through the Cumberland County Grand Jury regarding the other victims and offenses.
