Search On For 2nd In Trooper Shooting

The Tennessee Highway Patrol continues the search for a second suspect in Friday night’s shooting of a Cookeville-based officer.

Authorities with the Kentucky State Police arrested Braze Rucker Saturday near Princeton, Kentucky. Rucker was the identified passenger in the car Friday night. Rucker was transported to the Hopkinsville Police Department.

The driver of the vehicle is a black man with facial tattoos. The car fled the scene on Interstate 40 Eastbound Friday night, with the car found in Sumner County early Saturday.

Trooper Adam Cothron remains hospitalized at last report. A fund has been setup for his family at a local bank. Cothron was treated at Cookeville Regional, before being airlifted to Nashville Friday night.

The incident happened around 8:00 Friday night near the Highway 111 exit.
