Search For Whited Continues, Info Needed

The search for 64-year-old Roy Whited of White County continues.

The search for Whited began in early May after he was last seen on Lovejoy Road in Sparta. White County Sheriff Steve Page said the department is still investigating the case and recently has tried different methods to get a lead on where Whited might be.

“We have been searching technology devices,” Page said. “You know, cell phones and different things that we have access to. We have been issuing search warrants trying to just gain any information whatsoever as to what may have happened. So far no success.”

The department has spoken with multiple friends and family members of Whited and they still do not have a lead on his whereabouts. Page said he and his department are committed to locating Whited.

“I have a detective who has been working on this case every day,” Page said. ” I mean he is exhausting every lead and he is looking everywhere he can possibly look. He is not leaving any stones unturned.”

Page said he has no clue what may have caused the disappearance of Whited. Page said locating Whited is a top priority for him.

“Roy is my friend,” Page said. “He is a great person to this community and this community misses him so badly. You know, he is so loved in the whole county and it is such a great loss because we don’t know what happened.”

“We are desperate to find Roy,” Page said. “We want to bring him home and I would ask everybody to help us pray that we can do that. God is still in the prayer answering business.”
