Search For Missing White County Resident Continues

White County Resident Roy Whited remains missing after a day-long search effort Tuesday around Lovejoy Road involving about 100 people.

Sheriff Steve Page said the search included volunteers, sheriff deputies, EMS personnel, and TWRA staff. Page said day was successful in terms of how much ground they covered.

“I think we’ve checked off several boxes today with the search,” Page said. “And just hope and pray, you know, and everybody help us pray that we can figure something out, you know, and – and bring Roy home. If anybody has any information, please call my office.”

Page said they do not not know of any other areas where Whited could be located. He said the sheriff’s department will continue searching for Whited using other methods.

“We’re going to be interviewing people, we’re going to be getting information from electronic devices, and we’ll find him,” Page said. “It’s just a matter of time. We will find him.”

Page said the search was confined to that specific area because the last time Whited was seen he was caught on video pulling into his home on Lovejoy Road. Page said his vehicle is still at his house.

“So he either left on foot or somebody picked him up,” Page said. “And we believe it’s somebody picked him up. We don’t know that, but we believe that’s a very good chance for that to have happened.”

Page said anyone who knows anything about Whited’s whereabouts should call the sheriff’s department and share whatever they know. The number to call is (931) 836-2700.
