The people of Fentress County voted for change on the Board of Education.
Only one incumbent running opposed retained her seat. Kathryn S. Williams was re-elected in District 5, defeating James Murphy 383-334. The only other incumbent retaining their seat was Felicia Owens Garrett in District 3 who received 458 complementary votes.
In District 1, Nikki Voiles edged Lynette Pritchette Evans 221-219. Incumbent Hoyt Russell Stephens was defeated by Sierra Qualls Koger 487-167 in District 2. Melissa D. Branstetter unseated Kathy Pritchett 305-282 in District 4.
The only other local race saw Melynda Sullivan win re-election as the Fentress County Assessor of Property, receiving 2667 complementary votes.
Fentress County 26.59-percent voter turnout for its August General Election.
