The Putnam County Commission will vote on the school system’s budget at its meeting Monday.
Director of Schools Jerry Boyd said the school system will receive an increase in the per-penny rate, but no additional money.
Boyd said his staff began preparing budget documents in January.
“It’s an annual spending plan that’s connected to a long-range plan with long-range goals,” Boyd said. “We always want to make progress sometimes we certainly don’t make the progress we believe we can and we need to, but we continue to move forward as much as possible.”
The Putnam Board of Education has already passed three versions of the budget. They’ll have to pass a final version after the commission makes final approval Monday.
