Scammers Pretending To Be Officials From DeKalb Co. Fire Departments

If you receive a phone call from someone soliciting money on behalf of the Alexandria, Smithville, or DeKalb County Volunteer Fire Departments, hang up.

Local fire chiefs are saying it’s a scam.

Although local residents have reported receiving such calls, officials said none of the fire departments are engaging in any fundraising efforts. If you receive a report do not send any money and call police to report the incident.
