Scammers Posing As Overton Co. Lions Club Members

If you receive an email from the Overton County Lions Club, you could be the victim of a scam.

Lions Club President Peter Legro said he’s very concerned because his name is attached to the email.

“That is not even my email address. To me, this is a total scam and I would never request anything through an email,” Legro said.

Legro said the most recent email went to the Byrdstown Lions Club and requested money to be sent to the Overton County Lions Club. Legro said at no time would any Lions Club request money from another Lions Club.

He’s in the process of contacting law enforcement, the Livingston-Overton County Chamber of Commerce and BBB to inform them of the incident.
