Saturday Memorial Benefit Ride Fundraising For Two Families

Pennies from Pennie, a memorial ride raising funds for those battling sickness comes this Saturday.

Three Twenty-One Tribe motorcycle group will be hosting the event. Vice President Stewart Daniels said riders will travel from the Sparta Civic Center to Fall Creek Falls State Park.

“Pennie England was the step-mother of our Chaplin at the Three Twenty-One Tribe, and she has passed from cancer,” Daniels said. “So now this ride is going to happen every year, and we are going to pick people from our community and help them with their battle.”

Daniels said the funds from this ride will go to Charlee Sue Everett and Holly McKinney. Everett is six-years-old who is battling a form of Leukemia. McKinney who is 38-years-old has been diagnosed with Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). Daniels said both families need support.

“It’s very important that we all show up and try to come together as a community,” Daniels said. “That’s one really great thing about the bike clubs especially here in Middle Tennessee. We always get together, and we always make a big impact.”

Daniels said registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Sparta Civic Center. Each motorcycle or vehicle pay $25 to participate in the ride. Daniels said the convoy will roll out at 11:00 p.m.

“We are going to be going through town with a police escort hitting 111 and go all the way up through Spencer to Piney and turn left on Old State Highway 111 and we’re going to Fall Creek Falls,” Daniels said. “Shelter four will be the end of the ride.”

Daniels said food will be provided for the riders at the end of the trip. Daniels said participants will be able to speak with the families afterwards and have a prayer session. The Sparta Civic Center is located at 514 E W Bockman Way.
