Putnam County authorities apprehended a runaway juvenile Wednesday who allegedly left his school and set fire to several bales of hay.
According to a press release from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the juvenile was reported missing from Prescott South School around 11:00 a.m. While searching for the juvenile, officer spotted several round bales of hay on fire near South Jefferson Avenue and the entrance to Prescott South School.
Officials said the juvenile was taken into custody after a short pursuit. He’s currently being detained at the Putnam County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of arson and aggravated burglary. He has a court appearance before Juvenile Court Judge Hudson on Thursday, October 26th at 9:00 a.m.
This is not the first time the Sheriff’s Office has searched for the juvenile. The PCSO press release stated that he had to be located on August 31st, 2017.
