Rose: Congressional Recess Time For Meeting With Constituents

The August Congressional recess is a time to return home to their respective districts and meet with constituents.

Tennessee’s 6th District Representative John Rose said so far he has met with residents and business owners to talk about their wants and concerns and how he can help serve them. He said he has heard concerns about everything from inflation to the continued struggle of finding quality employees.

“I represent roughly 765,00 people that live across 19 counties in northeastern middle Tennessee stretching into the northwestern corner of east Tennessee,” Rose said. “And I need to understand what’s on their minds what are their concerns.”

Rose said another major issue that has been the point of concern for constituents has been the rule of law in the country. He said through his conversations, it has become clear that communities have a failing sense of trust in the justice system.

“The justice department, the court system, and our criminal investigative services like the Federal Bureau of Investigation that are perceived as taking the resources we give them and using them to pursue political opponents instead of the criminals they’re supposed to be pursuing,” Rose said.

Rose said understanding that information will help him as he takes it back to Washington and work towards bettering the lives of his constituents. Rose said the recess period is approximately five weeks long, and Congress is set to reconvene on September 14th.
