River Road Repaired In Clay County, Water Restored

River Road in Clay County has been repaired, including a water line that slipped into the Obey River.

County Road Supervisor Jason Browning said that water has been restored to residents impacted by this line break. Browning said that the road has been repaired but drivers should be cautious.

“They opened the flood gates at Dale Hollow Dam, that is actually on the Obey River,” Browning said. “The water is probably three feet from the edge of the road right now. I don’t know that it will get any higher but it’s possible.”

Browning said there is also a large rock on the edge of the road where repairs were done. He said the damage was caused yesterday by the rain saturating the ground and causing the pavement to slip out.
