Rescue Mission Offering Shelter During Cold Weather

With frigid temperatures affecting our region, the Cookeville Rescue Mission is reminding folks that the family lodge has space available for anyone needing a warm place to stay.

“If we were to be full, we have floors and plenty blankets,” Outreach Coordinator Ryan Henry said. “We will do whatever we have to do to get people out of the cold.”

Henry said the Cookeville Rescue Mission was serving about 40 people Wednesday. This year, the mission has served 537 men, 302 women, 71 families and 81 children.

Henry also said winter clothing donations are currently being accepted at the rescue mission.

If you need assistance from the mission, you can contact them at 931-528-5819 or stop by their facility at 1331 S. Jefferson Ave.
