Mr. Kaul Fincher, 93 of Cookeville died Tuesday June 26, 2018 at 10:41 a.m. in Signature Health Care Center in Algood. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Cordell Thomas “Dell” Gunter, age 68, of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Bro. Frank Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Algood City Cemetery. Dell passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018 at his home in Cookeville following brief illness. He was born Monday, September 19, 1949 in Flint, Michigan to the late James Frank Gunter and Oma Jane Davis Gunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a son, Hillery Dell Gunter; granddaughter, Cali Devillanueva; three brothers, Howard Gunter, Hillery Mulligan, and Pal Gunter. He is survived by: a son, Frank (Brenda) Gunter of Sparta; a daughter, Christy Hacker and her fiancee, Eric Delk of Monterey; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Julie (Greg) Stadther of Nashville, and Janie (Ralph) Delmonte of Lebanon. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 28, 2018, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Presley Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Ms. Patricia Ann “Patty” Mullins, age 57 of Sparta, will be conducted 11:00am Thursday, June 28, 2018 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Flat Creek Cemetery in Overton County. Ms. Mullins, age 57 of Sparta, passed away Sunday morning June 24, 2018 at Raintree Manor in McMinnville. Ms. Mullins was born November 14, 1960 in Overton County to the late Marvin Thomas & Anna Lucille Crabtree Mullins. She loved watching television mostly TV Land and playing the board game operation. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by sisters Martha Hickey and Louise Richardson; brothers Charles Mullins and David Mullins. Surviving family members include her siblings Mary Ruth Mullins of Cookeville, Agnes Hedgecough of Cookeville, Jean Benton of Monterey, Virginia Rogers of Michigan, Frank (Jody) Mullins of Sparta, John Henry Mullins of Missouri, Jack Mullins of Sparta. A host of nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends after 9:00am Thursday until service time at Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Joan Kowal Oswalt, 84 of Cookeville, will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at First United Methodist Church of Cookeville with the Rev. Rob Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Joan passed from this life on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Crest Lawn Funeral Home and on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 10:00 am until time of services at First United Methodist Church of Cookeville.

Funeral Services for Mr. Billy Dubree, age 67, of Cookeville, will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 28 at Dyer Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Dubree passed away Saturday June 23, 2018 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born Monday August 21, 1950 in Cookeville to the late Omer Dubree and Bessie Mitchell Dubree, both preceding him in death. Billy was a member of Holladay Church of Christ for 50 years. He worked at Cummins Filtration for 47 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, but mostly a family man who loved his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kaye Rittenberry Dubree (married October 26, 1968 at Holladay Church of Christ); two daughters: Tracey & husband Matt Grissom and Tammy Dubree, all of Cookeville; grandchildren: James Tyler Carr, Haley Brooke Kinnard, Kason Matthew Grissom and Kolton Joel Grissom; brother, Mike Dubree (Kelly) of Cookeville; sisters: Brenda Lewis (Larry) of Brentwood and Debbie Smith of Nashville. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 – 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Funeral Services For Merida Bilbrey, Age 73, Of Crawford, Tennessee, Will Be Conducted On Thursday, June 28, 2018, At 2:00 PM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Dewayne Walls And Rev. David Harris Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The George M. Phillips Cemetery. Mrs. Bilbrey Was Born On January 3, 1945, In Crawford, Tennessee, To The Late Roy And Elsie Howard Walls. Mrs. Bilbrey Passed Away On Sunday, June 24, 2018, At The Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Bilbrey Was A Homemaker And Factory Worker. She Was A Member Of Vine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. She Is Survived By Her Husband Of Almost 46 Years, Tommy Bilbrey Of Crawford, TN; 2 Children, Beverly Bilbrey Of Crawford, TN, Randy Bilbrey Of Fort Worth, TX; 3 Grandchildren, Samantha Albertson, Jasper Ballard, Lynsey Williams; 2 Sisters And Brothers-In-Law, Glenda And Lillard Cantrell Of Crawford, TN, Reba And Michael Maxwell Of Hanging Limb, TN; 2 Brothers And Sisters-In-Law, Junior And Lucy Walls Of Crawford, TN, Larry And Vicki Walls Of Crawford, TN. A memorial service for Faison Young Whitaker, Jr., 88 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, June 29th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Cookeville, TN. White passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in Sparta. Whit is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Beth and George Wood; his son, Eric Whitaker; grandchildren, Chris Whitaker, Michelle Fairfield, and James Fairfield; along with an extended family of nieces, nephews and step-great-grandchildren – all of whom are grateful for his love. Visitation will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Following the service, all guests are welcome to join the family for refreshments. Interment will follow in Arlington of TN in the Cherry Creek Community. Mr. Ferris passed away Tuesday morning June 26, 2018 at his residence. Mrs. Walker Passed Away On Tuesday, June 26, 2018, At The Standing Stone Care And Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Walker Was A Homemaker. She Was A Member Of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. She Is Survived By, 2 Daughters And Sons-In-Law, Mildred And Rev. Randall Hoover Of Monterey, Judy And Deloy Bowman Of Hanging Limb; 3 Sons And Daughters-In-Law, Paul And Brenda Walker Of Monterey, Ray And Irene Walker Of Hanging Limb, David And Anita Walker Of Hanging Limb; 16 Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren, 11 Great Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters-In-Law, Dortha Bowman Of Hanging Limb, Lena Walker Of Nashville; 1 Brother-In-Law, Haskel Walker Of Clarkrange; Host Of Nieces And Nephews. A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Harold Byron McCartney, age 92, of Algood, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday June 30 at Paran Church with Pastor Danny Whitson officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Mr. McCartney passed away Sunday morning June 24, 2018 at his home.

Celebration of Life Services from Mrs. Linda D. Hatcher Smith, age 65, of Cookeville will be conducted 1 p.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018 from the Fairview Church of Christ in Fairview. Linda passed from this life on June 16, 2018 from the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born July 5, 1952 in Davidson County to the late James Sr, & Geneva Lawson Hatcher. Linda leaves her son, George Edward Smith of Owensboro, Ky; brothers, Larry Hatcher & wife Pam of Franklin, and Jimmy Hatcher & wife Sherrhea of Fairview; 8 nieces and nephews. The family will welcome friends at the time of services at 2001 Fairview Blvd, Fairview, Tenn. 37062.

The funeral service for Margaret E. Rushton Upchurch, 85 of Cookeville, will be held on Monday July 2, 2018 at 2PM in Gulfport, Mississippi. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Margaret went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 22, 2018. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack, her parents, Grady and Bardie Rushton, her brothers, Cecil, Harry and Edward Rushton, and her sister, Mary Burger. She is survived by her son, Ronnie Upchurch (Theresa), her granddaughter, Lauren Upchurch Sturgill and her great-grandson, Ethan Sturgill, all of Cookeville and many family members and friends. Margaret was born on July 1, 1932 in Mobile, AL and grew up in Laurel, MS where she met and married the late Jack Upchurch. Margaret worked as a bookkeeper for Gulfport Paper and Coast Materials for many years before her retirement. She was a long time and faithful member of the Methodist Church. She and Jack were very active in their church and Margaret was a deeply religious person who cherished her God and Church. She was also a long time member of the Choir. Margaret was known for her cakes and baked goods which she prepared and gave for all occasions. She will be remembered for her kind and giving spirit that always placed the needs of others ahead of her own. She and Jack selflessly gave their time and resources to help anyone in need. She also loved all animals and always had cats and dogs. The family wishes to extend its thanks to Kindred Hospice and Dr. Lori Austin of Cookeville. Visitation for family and friends will be from 12PM until the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of South Mississippi.
