A service celebrating the life of Dawn Yvonne Hudson Gallaher, age 81 of Quebeck, will be held at Sparta First United Methodist Church, 1:00pm Thursday, August 16, 2018 with Rev. Greg Gallaher and Rev. Ken Wallace officiating. Dawn went to her heavenly home on August 13, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Dawn was born December 3, 1936 in Hartsville. A loving wife to Robert “Bob” W. Gallaher for 63 years, she has three children, Greg (Connie) Gallaher of Georgetown Kentucky, David Gallaher of Sparta, and Robin (Bill Toye) Gallaher of Cookeville. She dearly loved all her grandchildren who brought much joy to her life. Her six grandchildren include Jared (Laura) Gallaher, John (Laura) Gallaher, Lindsey (Robbie) Porter, Chris (Andrea Harris) Lynch, Whitney (Jamie Chapman) Gallaher, and Nikki (Steven Pogue) Christopher. Her six great-grandchildren include Lucy Porter, Lincoln Gallaher, Oliver Porter, Josie Porter, Ezra Gallaher, and Samuel Lynch (due in November). She also has a special niece, April Pope Mantha. She has five longtime, close friends, Mary Ann Huffines, Linda Witt, Linda Walker, Brenda Cardwell, and Janelle Clark. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday from 4-8:00pm. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Funeral services for Mrs. Angela Wynette Pincheon will be held Friday August 17th ,2018 at 1pm from the chapel of the Hall funeral home. With burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Overton County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday August 16th 2018 starting at 5pm until 9pm at the funeral home. Officiating will be Bro. David Brown. She passed away at Cookeville Regional Medical Center on Monday, August 13th, 2018. Mrs. Angela Wynette Pincheon was born in Cookeville, Putnam County TN on September 22, 1969. She was a member of God in Christ, but attended Allons Assembly of God. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother. She is going to be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services for Johnny Judd, age 76 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, August 17, 2018 beginning at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home, with Bro. Johnny Fox and Roy Palk officiating. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Johnny passed from this life Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at his home in Cookeville. He was born Saturday, January 3, 1942 in Putnam County. He was the son of the late John and Nola (Gentry) Judd. Johnny was a loving Husband, Daddy, and Daddy-in-law. He retired from the Kroger Company as Produce Manager, after 45 years of service. He loved Kroger and loved taking fishing trips with his buddies. Johnny was known for his kidding, joking, and unique sense of humor. He had a lifetime love of horses, and also enjoyed basketball and football. He considered his Daughter and Son-in-law his greatest achievements. He will be missed by his family, many friends and good neighbors. Johnny is survived by his loving and very devoted wife of 57 years whom he married August 19, 1961; 1 Daughter and Son-in-law: Sherry and Roger Nixon of Thompsons Station; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law: Clarence (Jr.) Gentry, and his Wife Mary Lois of Monterey; 2 Sisters and Spouse: Juanita Spurlock of Madison, Linda and Terry Nabors of Cookeville; A special Aunt and Good Friend: Martha Gentry Smith of Cookeville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: 1 Brother-in-law: J.W. Spurlock. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the helpful and caring neighbors, Stacy and Mike Dietz, and Ashley Stephens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, August 17 from 1:00 PM until time of service at 3:00 PM. Funeral Services for Danny wayne Cravens, 62 of Sparta, will be held Friday, August 17, 2018 after a 3P.M. visitation at Thurman’s Funeral Home, in Sparta. Burial Service to follow at Cemetery at Robinson’s Chapel in the Cherry Creek Community of Sparta. Danny Wayne Cravens passed away on Sunday August 12, 2018 at his home in Sparta, at the age of 62. He was born in Sparta to Earl Casto and Gladys Marie Polston Cravens, on October 14, 1955. He was the business owner of Dan Cravens General Auto Repair, as an Automotive Painter, and Mechanic, who was wildly talented and what some would call redneck-ingenuitive, refer to his yellow wrecker for reference. He taught many people skills that they carry on with them forever. He was a simple man, humorous, very generous, caring, rough around the edges guy, but most compassionate. Mr. Cravens is preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Dwayne (Donna) Cravens, Sam Cravens (Tonia), and Baby Boy Cravens. He is survived by his children’s mother and former consort of 28 years: Rebbecca “Becky” LaPoint Cravens, Children: Daughter, Barbara “Bumper” Gooch (Russell), his Son, Danny “Farmer” Cravens (Leslie), and Daughter, Cassandra “KC” Cravens Dennis (Don), Grandchildren: (Barbara’s): Kelsey Gooch, Tallen Gooch, Spencer Gooch, Trinity Gooch, (Farmer’s): Macauley Cravens, Blake Cravens, and Sarah Mae Cravens. (KC’s): Zechariah “Zac” Cravens, Lucas “Cornbread” Dennis, and (due in October) Amelia Jane Dennis, Step-grandchildren: Apryl Skipper (Brandon), Nicholas “Nick” Dennis. Step Great-grandchildren: (Apryl’s): Shealynn, Jaydon, and Pierce. Siblings: Sisters: Ruth Earlene Watts (Larry), Marsha Denton (Junior), Brenda Cravens (Richard Johnson), and Greta Carter, Brothers: David Cravens (Sherry), Barney Cravens (LeAnn). Numerous Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and Great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday August 16, 2018 for Private Family from 4P.M.-5P.M., and for Guests 5P.M.-8P.M. and Friday August 17, 2018 at 3P.M.
Funeral Services for Mr. Clyde Richardson, age 87, of Monroe will be conducted Friday, August 17, 2018, at 4 P.M. from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston. Bro. Marlon Winningham will officiate. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery with military honors provided by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Richardson passed from this life on Tuesday evening from the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Overton County on January 11, 1931, to the late Douglas and Auda Mae Ledbetter Richardson. He loved spending time with his family, fishing and hunting, hunting ginseng, and sitting on his porch feeding the birds. Mr. Clyde Richardson leaves behind his brother Illis Douglas (Buster) Richardson of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; sisters JoAnn Towe of Nashville and Paulette Wilson of Hilham; nieces Sandy Hargis, Cookie Carner, Sherry Peek, Sheena Hummel, and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his brothers Shirley Richardson, Hollis Richardson, Harlis Richardson, M.V. “Joe” Richardson, and Leonard Richardson, and sisters Opal Wade, Burnice Maynord, Junior Lee Richardson, Nennie Cope, and Lucille Bybee. The family will welcome friends on Friday from 2 P.M. until time of services at 4 P.M..
Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Brooks Stanton, age 99, of Cookeville, will be 1 p.m. Saturday August 18 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Stone and Rev. Jonathan Young will officiate. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time. Mrs. Stanton passed away Saturday evening August 11, 2018 at Signature Health Care of Putnam County.
Funeral Services for Tracey Lane Gniewek, 52 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, August 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Dyer Funeral Home. Tracey was born in Putnam County on May 26, 1966 to the late Ivan Franklin Lane and Mary Ann Pinkston Lane. She passed away on August 6, 2018. Tracey spent the past 10 years as a Registered Nurse. She is survived by: Son, Lane Gniewek and wife Allison of St. Louis MO Nieces, Brandi (Austin) Harris, Morgan (Zach) Gaynor all of Cookeville, and Stephanie (Greg) Loyd of Archdale NC; Step-Mother, Carol Lane; Great Nieces and Nephews: Bailey Honeycutt, Ally Grace Harris, Blake & Jessica Harris, Ethan Hickey, Olivia Dancy, Azton & Paxton Loyd and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. Preceded in death by: her parents, her Brother (Gregory Franklin Lane), and her Grandparents (Ivan & Clara Lane & Walter & Myrtle Pinkston). The family will visit with friends Saturday, August 18 from 12-2.
A celebration of Life for Bonnie “BJ” Finkbiner, age 86 of Monterey, will be held on August 18, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. at the Monterey Free Will Baptist Church. She passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 2, 2018, into the arms of the Lord to be joined with her beloved Husband, Martin Lee “Fink” Finkbiner and Son, Orville Buck. She was born on October 31, 1931, the daughter of Seth S. Stevens and Mary M. (Wilton) Stevens. She made her home in Tennessee after the death of her husband. She was a member of Monterey Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Pam (Mike) Spillane, Cyndie (Wallace) Still, Lillian (Jack) Looper, and Cliff Buck. Her brothers, Jay Sr. (Sally) Moore, Orv (Dorothy) Stevens, Walter (Bonnie) Moore, 12 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren, with another one due this month. Preceding her in death were her sisters, Annette Lockwood and Irene Wolf; Brothers, Seth Stevens II and Roy Stevens; Grandson, Matthew Spillane; and a Great-Granddaughter, C.J. Buck. The family will receive friends at the Monterey Free Will Baptist Church immediately following the services.
Celebration Of Life Service for Fred O. King, age 84, of East Peoria, Illinois, formerly of Monterey, will be held Sunday, August 19, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Phipps will officiate and inurnment will follow in the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mr. King died at 3:40 p.m., Saturday, August 11, 2018, at OSF Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. He was born on June 9, 1934, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Roy and Pauline (Phipps) King. He married Lois Blye on July 3, 1955, at Creve Coeur First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur, Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Bob (Debbie Roe) King, Karen King, Dennis (Teresa) King, and Jerry (Dana) King; grandchildren, Melissa Bale, Jordan Woo, Cody King, Courtney (Rachael) King, Elizabeth King, Tim King, Ayden King, Brandon Wilson, Nicole Duckworth, Megan Mills, Michael (Jessica) Mills, Matt (Courtney) Mills; 22 great grandchildren; 19 nieces/nephews; brother, Kenneth (Anne) King; and sister, Helen (Harvey) Cummings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Rose Campbell. Fred loved his family very much and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He grew up in Monterey, Tennessee, and graduated from Monterey High School in 1953. He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 34 years and retired in 1988. He had been President of the Route 66 Watch and Clock Club in Morton, Illinois. His hobbies included trading collectibles and collecting antiques. He was a dedicated St. Louis Cardinals fan and had a love of gospel bluegrass music and fresh Southern Illinois peaches. He was a selfless man and was ready to lend a helping hand whenever he was needed.
