Obituaries For Tuesday, October 2

Miss Tyler Drew Ledbetter, 25 of Cookeville, formerly of Baxter, died Monday, October 1, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born April 27, 1993 in Cookeville to Audrey Kay Anderson Ledbetter of Cookeville and Christopher Lyle Ledbetter also of Cookeville. She was a 2011 graduate of Upperman High School in Baxter. She was a homemaker. Survivors in addition to her parents include: sister Tia Ledbetter, grandparents, Kay Anderson of Cookeville, Virginia and Jimmy Maynard of Baxter, Donnie Ledbetter of Monterey, aunts and uncles Sheila and Mike Palmer of Baxter, Tina Herron, Tonya Anderson, Dwight Ledbetter, Max Ledbetter all of Cookeville, Bradley and Liz Ledbetter of Alexandria, Beth Ann Maynard of Baxter. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

A memorial service for Carole Lee Wells (née Lingle), age 85 of Cookeville, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Friendship United Methodist Church in Cookeville TN, with Rev. Carl Stiglich officiating the ceremony. A reception will follow at the church. Carole passed at Life Care Center of Sparta on September 28, 2018 in Sparta. Carole is survived by her husband of 65 years George; children, Cheri Shields (Patrick) of Eagle River, WI; Suzi Nelson (Tim) of Robbinsdale, MN; Lori Eyre of Mt. Prospect, IL; and Roger Wells (Cheryl) of Cookeville, her brother Robert Lingle (Barbara) of Metropolis, IL; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carole’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Friendship United Methodist Church, 5454 S. Jefferson St. Cookeville, TN 38506. Arrangements are being handled by Presley Funeral Home.

Memorial services for John “Big John” Alva Huddleston, 77 of Baxter, will be Wednesday, October 3 at 1 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will be in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date. Mr. Huddleston died Wednesday September 26, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born August 29, 1941 in the Gentry Community of Putnam County to the late Max C. and Mollie Elizabeth Pullum Huddleston. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, James “Jim” Robert Huddleston and a sister-in-law Helen Boyd Huddleston. He was a 1959 graduate of Baxter Seminary. He was owner-operator of Big John’s Upholstery in Baxter/Cookeville since 1974. John served as a Trustee at Baxter United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, going to car shows and being with family and friends. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Wayne and Leisa Huddleston of Nashville, Micky and Lisa Huddleston of Cookeville, sisters Mary (Charles) Petty, Nancy (Larry) Williams all of Cookeville, Sarah (Harold) Brown of Baxter, brothers R.C. Huddleston of Silver Point, David Huddleston of Hilham, Larry (Patricia) Huddleston of Cookeville, grandchildren: Andrea Huddleston (Brandon) Parks, Josh Huddleston and Molly Huddleston, great-grandchildren: Kayden Wayne Parks and Alyssa Rose Parks, host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM and after 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Maudeen Sparks, age 82, of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday October 3 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Clarence Deloach will officiate. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of the service.

Funeral services for Mr. Elmer Lee Hix, 86, of Gainesboro, will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Wednesday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina. He was born December 13, 1931, in Jackson County, TN, to the late William Cluer Hix and Pearlie Buck Hix. On December 20, 1957, he was married to Estelene Hix, who survives. He was a carpenter, and a member of the Hurricane Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Funeral services for Mrs. Diana L. Hoffman, age 63 of Murfreesboro, formerly of Monterey, will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 2 PM from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Phillips Cemetery, Monterey, Putnam CO., TN. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, October 2, 2018 4 PM to 8 PM. Officiating will be Bro. Nolan Cantrell.

Bobby Floyd Will Officiate. Ms. Clements Was Born On December 1, 1944, In Sparta, To The Late John Frank And Ruby Marie Townsend Randolph. Mr. Passed Away On Sunday, September 30, 2018, At The Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Ms. Clements Was A Homemaker. She Attended Full Gospel Assembly And Hope In Christ Fellowship. She Is Survived By, 2 Daughters And A Son-In-Law, alena And Dewayne Atkinson Of Clarkrange, Cynthia Clements Of Monterey; 3 Grandchildren, Chance Welch, Haley Jacobs And Dylan Murphy; Sisters, Shirley Nagucki Of Monterey, Margie Sims Of MI, Sandra Abrams Of Monterey; 1 Brother, Gary Randolph Of Monterey; In Addition To Her Parents, She Was Preceded In Death By Her Daughter, Jolene Wilson; 2 Sisters, Doris Aldridge And Mildred Randolph; And 3 Brothers, Edward, Elmer And Arnold Randolph. Her Wishes Of Cremation Are Being Honored. The Family Will Receive Friends At Hope In Christ On Thursday, October 4, 2018, From 6:00 PM Until Time Of Services At 6:30.

Funeral Services for Merle Jackson, age 79, will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 @ 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Oak Lawn Funeral Home with burial in Old Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am until time of services. Mr. Jackson died on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born April 26, 1939 in Brotherton, TN to the late Herman Clay and Maudie Jones Jackson. His family includes his daughter and son-in-law Lu-Wanna and Tommy Baggett of Louisville, KY and daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Richard Alverson of Lake Mary, FL; one brother Jim Tom Jackson of Logansport, IN, thirteen grandchildren, Nick Hargrove, Michelle Alverson, Jason Alverson, C.J. Simpson, James Farley Baggett, Kati Baggett, Brittany Gary, Ashley Williams, Charles Norris, Lanae Usie, Michael Usie, Matt Norris, and Traeson Usie and nineteen great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Earl Alverson will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Memorial Services for Wanda Joan Cannon Forgey, age 79 of Doyle, will be 2:00 pm Thursday, October 4, 2018 in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12 noon till Service time on Thursday. Bro. John Murphy will officiate the service. Forgey passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at the St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. She was the daughter of the late Charles Lewis Cannon and Ruby Pickett Cannon.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Marilyn Clair Davis, age 79, of Baxter, will be at 11 a.m. Friday October 5 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Davis passed away Sunday afternoon September 30, 2018 at her home. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with a Rosary Service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation on Friday will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.

Funeral services for Mr. Ricky M. White, age 56 of Livingston, will be held Friday, October 5, 2018 at 2 PM from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Mr. White passed away at his residence on Monday, October 1, 2018. Mr. White was born in Livingston to the late Don and Cassie Pauline White on May 12, 1962. Survivors include: 1 Son: Chad White and wife Ashton; 1 Daughter: Breinna Baker and husband Josh; 4 Grandchildren: Mason, Shelby, Memphis, Kambrie; Ralph White, Johnny White, Danny White, Brenda Laycock. Preceded in death by: His Parents Don and Cassie Pauline White, Donald White, J. R. White, Randall White, Loyd White, Patricia Hicks, Billy White. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, October 4, 2018 4 PM to 8 PM.
