Mrs. Carolyn Campbell age 74 of Cookeville, died Tuesday March 20, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. at her home. Funeral arrangments are incomplete.
A memorial service for Avalyn Kaye Lacy, 57 of Sparta, will be held at 6pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at The Lighthouse Church on Old Kentucky Road in Sparta with Brother Thomas McCulley and Sister Judy Smith officiating. Avalyn passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018. She was preceeded in death by her beloved Grandfather Elmore Carter (Dado), and her Uncle Elmore Carter, Jr. She is survived by her parents, Alvin Lacy and Barbara Carter Lacy of Sparta, her brother Jeff Lacy and Karen of Cookeville, and niece Megan Lacy of Richmond, VA. She also had a wide network of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews including Grandmother Rowena Carter Hayes, Uncle Ronnie Carter and Aunt Angie, Aunt Lois Carter, Uncle James Lacy and Aunt Claudine, and Aunt Rowena Lacy. Visitation will be from 4pm until 6pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to one of the following: Upper Cumberland Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the American Cancer Society Memorial Foundation Hope Lodge, or The Gideons International.
Funeral services for Brandon Harold Cravens, age 34 of Sparta, will be conducted 11:00am Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Robinson Chapel Cemetery. Ray Young will officiate the service. Brandon passed away Friday, March 16, 2018. Brandon was born September 1, 1983 in White County to David Cravens and Belinda Robinson. He worked in construction and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending his time fishing. Brandon especially loved the nicknames given to him by his nieces and nephews – Uncle Boog and Uncle Big Man. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Casto and Marie Cravens, and uncles Sam Cravens and Dewayne Cravens. Brandon’s surviving family includes his Son: Lucas Cravens; Parents: David Cravens & Sherry Simmons of Sparta, Belinda Robinson & John Berg of McMinnville; Grandparents: Harold & Faye Robinson of Sparta; Brothers: Stephen & Nickole Farley of Sparta, Stanley Farley of McMinnville; Best friend & brother: Chris Murphy; Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. David Harris, 58, of Granville, will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Vinson Cemetery in Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Wednesday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born December 17, 1959, in Carthage, to the late Robert T. Harris and Alta Harris. On December 23, 2014, he was married to Robbie Harris, who survives. He worked in ground maintenance and landscaping, and was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ. He loved being outdoors, especially turkey hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Jackie Harris. Survivors include his Wife: Robbie Harris of Granville; 2 Daughters: Amanda (Brandyn) Wright of Granville, and Jennifer (Travis) Thomas of Gainesboro; 1 Step Son: Joseph Woodard of Silver Point; 2 Step Daughters: Leslie Conder of WV, and Stephanie Stewart of Carthage; 10 Grandchildren: Jaylan Wright, Kara Wright, Isaiah Thomas, Lyza Thomas, Ava Thomas, Ashlynn Stewart, Judd Conder, Emma Conder, Liliana Barsotti, and Braden Woodard; 3 Brothers: Wayne (Brenda) Harris of Gainesboro, Larry (Tina) Harris of Granville, and Jimmy Harris of Granville; and 1 Sister: Diane (Jerry) Driver of Gainesboro. Mr. Williams Was A United States Navy Chief Boilerman Serving During The WWII, Korean, And Vietnam War On The USS Philippine Sea (CV47) From The Time It Was Commissioned Until It Retired In 1958. He Then Served On The USS Belle Grove LSD-2 And The USS Lexington In The Coral Sea As A Pacific Fleet Certified Boiler Inspector. Funeral services for Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Hansen, 81, of Gainesboro, will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at the Gainesboro First United Methodist Church in Gainesboro. Private burial will be at a later time at the Hansen farm. She passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born September 8, 1936, in Bulls Gap, TN, to the late William Horner and Lula Horner. On September 14, 1958, she was married to Ray Hansen, who survives. She was a school teacher and principal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Bill Horner, Jr. Survivors include her Husband: Ray Hansen of Gainesboro; 1 Son: Mark F. Hansen of Lafayette, LA; 1 Daughter: Kathryn Foles of Katy, TX; 1 Brother: Randy Horner of FL; 1 Sister: Wilma Longfellow of East TN; 6 Grandchildren; and 4 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Lavaughn Howell, age 80 of Spencer, will be conducted 11:00am Thursday, March 22, 2018 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Saylors Cemetery. Mr. Howell passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Howell was born July 11, 1937 in Burgess Falls to the late Asco and Adith Howard Howell. He was a jack-of-all-trades, who enjoyed working as a mechanic, truck driver, bulldozer operator, furniture builder and storeowner. In addition to his parents, Mr. Howell is preceded in death by his son, Leonard Howell Jr. and brothers Richard Howell and Claudie Howell. Fannie went home to be with the Lord at her home in Cookeville on March 16, 2018. Fannie was born on August 13, 1938 in Stark County, Ohio to the late Atlee P. and Susanna (Cross) Miller. Fannie was a caretaker (CNA) for 36 years. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining family and friends, southern gospel music and hymns. Fannie is survived by: Husband of 56 years : Perry Martin Yoder, Jr.; 3 Children: Suzette Yoder, Kevin Yoder (Donita Eby), Rosabel Yoder Hunter (Gary); 2 Grandchildren: Robin Yoder Hulmuth (Trevin), Landon Yoder (Shannon Mahal); 4 Great Grandchildren: Luke and Tori Helmuth, Ellie and Ethan Yoder. Fannie was preceded in death by: Grand-Daughter: Terra Hunter.

Joshua passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018 in McMinnville. He was born Thursday, August 5, 1999 in Pierre, South Dakota. Survivors include his mother, Cherry Smith of Sparta; grandmother, Sharon Cox of Sparta; brother, Royal Smith of Sparta; and many cousins, neices, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Lou Kent Moore Weaver, 85 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Friday, March 23, 2018 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Highland Cemetery. Betty was born in White County to the late Malcolm and Eunetta Mason Kent on December 11, 1932 and passed from this life on March 18, 2018 at the age of 85. She was the manager at the Goodyear Store for 28-plus years and a member of Central Church of Christ. Betty was very involved in her girls’ activities, including the PTA, band and Girl Scouts. She dedicated her life to her family and her dog, Bubbie. She looked forward to Primetime and the trips. In addition to her parents, Betty is also preceded in death by her husbands George Ellis Moore and Robert Lynn Weaver. Her surviving family includes her Daughters: Teresa & Chris Colby, Cindy & RJ Hickey, Sandy & Allan Clouse, Faye Moore, Kaye Moore, Renee & Kevin Henry; Grandchildren: Rhonda & Paul Welch, Scott & Lisa Hickey, Brandon A. Clouse, Keela Henry, Macie & Travis Howard, Matthew Clouse; Seven Great Grandchildren; One Great, Great Grandchild; Sister: Mary Anna Thompson. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on March 27, 1975 to Vickey Long and Kenny Easterling. She a 1996 Graduate of Livingston Academy. She worked as a cashier. She is survived by her mother, Vickey Grow of Dayton, Ohio; father, Kenny Easterling of Fairborn, Ohio; Adoptive Parents, Roger & Shelia Mick, Baxter, TN; & brothers, Rodney Mick & wife Liz of Fairborn Ohio & Ryan Mick of Baxter, TN. Funeral services for Martha Elizabeth Glenn Templeton, 88 of Sparta, will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Don Shuster and Robert Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Martha passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, at her residence. Born Friday, October 25, 1929, in Sparta, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Vance Glenn and the late Eunice Sparks Glenn. Mrs. Martha worked in the local banking industry for 34 years. She was an active member of the American Cancer Society, where she served as Treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the Better Business Bureau of Professional Women and the Renaissance Club. She was active in the White County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, where she served as Women’s Chair for several years. She was also involved in the local March of Dimes, and she participated in the Central View Community Club. She attended the Quebeck Church of Christ. Martha not only had a passion for each of the causes and clubs she served; she also carried this devotion to her hobbies and interests. She loved attending auctions on a hunt for antiques and glassware with knowledge about worth and an eye for detail. Martha brought this uncontainable spirit to White County High School Basketball games, attending each home game and cheering on her team. No matter where she went, Martha brought her enthusiastic zeal for life with her. Her fervor for life was first and foremost felt by her family and friends, and she always made sure everyone knew her love and devotion for them. Surviving are daughter, Janan Wallace (Jerry) of Sparta; son, Quinn Templeton (Joy) of Quebeck; granddaughter Kendra Wallace of Ashland City; granddaughter Megan Templeton of Rock Island; grandson Joshua Templeton of Quebeck; granddaughter Maria Templeton of Quebeck; sister, Florence St. Thomas of Charlotte, North Carolina; and special friend Gladys Garrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Clifford Templeton; sister, Ellen Officer; brother, Linze Arnold Glenn, and an infant brother. Family will receive friends from 4pm until 8pm on Friday, March 23, 2018, and Saturday from 10am until 2pm at the funeral home.

She died Sunday March 18, 2018.
