Obituaries For Tuesday, July 31

Funeral Services for Mrs. Addie Ova Barlow, age 92, of Cookeville and formerly of Hilham will be conducted 2 P.M. Tuesday, July 31, 2018, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Myran Greer will officiate. Burial will be in the Lynn Cemetery in Jackson County. Mrs. Barlow passed from this life on Friday afternoon from the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loving family. Addie was born in Jackson County on February 20, 1926, to the late Titus Hammock and Louisa Greenwood. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly, enjoyed word search puzzles, spent time quilting, and kept a beautiful flower garden. Mrs. Addie Ova Barlow leaves her daughters Janice Roberson and husband David of Cookeville and Joyce Ward and husband Jack of Livingston; grandchildren Shane Barlow, John Robert Ward, and Joshua Roberson; great grandchildren Cody Matthews, Tinsley Ward, Christian Ward, Ian Ward, and Layke Ward; and special caregiver Linda Greer. In addition to her parents, Addie was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Barlow, six brothers, and four sisters. The family will welcome friends on Monday, July 30th, from 5 to 8 P.M.

A memorial service for Rhonda Dennis, age 48 of Sparta, will be held at 6pm on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Doyle United Methodist Church with John Murphy officiating. Rhonda passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Funeral Services For Glenna Conley, Age 71, Of Mayland, Will Be Conducted On Friday, August 3, 2018, At 10:00 AM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Floyd And Rev. Carl Hubbard Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Mayland Cemetery. Mrs. Conley Was Born On January 23, 1947, In Baxter, To The Late Edgar And Sadie Rittenberry Grogan. Mrs. Conley Passed Away On Monday, July 30, 2018, At Her Home. Mrs. Conley Was A Real Estate Agent And A Factory Worker. She Is Survived By Her Husband, Michael Conley Of Mayland; 2 Daughters And A Son-In-Law, Nella Shultis Of Crossville, Jennifer And Adam Phillips Of Crossville; 2 Sons And A Daughter-In-Law, Eric And Kim Floyd Of Crossville, Ronald “Bubba” Floyd Of Crossville; 11 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; 5 Sisters, Faye McClain Of Morrison, Juanita Raines Of Cookeville, Billie Grogan Of Monterey, Rhonda Blaylock Of Monterey, Crystal Grogan Of Kenton, OH; 3 Brothers, Anthony Grogan Of Monterey, Rick Grogan Of Kenton, OH, Greg Grogan Of Cookeville. In Addition To Her Parents, She Was Preceded In Death By Her Daughter, Rachel Bowman; Sister, Sue Reagan; And Grandson, Justin “Nick” Floyd. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Thursday, August 2, 2018, From 5:00 PM Until 8:00 PM.

Funeral services for Mrs. Claudine Johnson Branch, age 88, of Cookeville, will be 12 noon Friday August 3 at Cookeville First Baptist Church. Pastor Mike Head will officiate. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Branch passed away Monday morning July 30, 2018 at her home. The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Graveside services for Mr. Malcolm Wayne Ownby, age 64 of Gainesboro, formerly of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Friday, August 3, 2018 at Lower Cherry Creek Cemetery. Malcolm passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Mabry Health and Rehabilitation in Gainesboro. Malcolm was born July 17, 1954 in Nashville to the late Malcolm William & Dorothy Louise Fry Ownby. He was a former painter. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a daughter Stasha Ownby; sister Dottie Ownby; brother Marshall Ownby. Surviving family include his daughters Heather Ownby of Crossville and Deanna Ownby of Nashville; Son: Shane Ownby of Nashville. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00am until departure for the cemetery at 12:30pm at Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Charles Glen Stewart, 86 of Baxter, will be Saturday, August 4 at 3 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Stewart died Monday, July 30, 2018 at NHC of Cookeville. He was born July 27, 1932 in Overton County, TN to the late John Pleasant and Ella Veachel Franklin Stewart. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death first wife Anna Ruth Lee Stewart, son Danny Stewart, infant daughter Jennifer Beth Stewart, a sister-in-law Wanda Smellage Stewart and a brother-in-law Willard Boles. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a retired press operator with Teledyne-Stillman of Cookeville. Survivors include wife Doris “Dot” McHood Stewart of Baxter, sons Earl (Pam) Stewart of Baxter, Robert (Teresa) Stewart of Cookeville, daughter Amy (Michael) Fox of Baxter, sister Jane Boles of Cookeville, brothers Albert Stewart of Fortville, Indiana, Morgan (Patricia) Stewart of Cookeville, grandchildren: Corey Stewart, Kayla Stewart, Amanda Stewart, Tiffany Coffee, Daniel Poston and Samantha Fox, 10 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 PM and after 12 Noon Saturday at the funeral home.
