Obituaries For Thursday, June 7

Jack Roy Fiefer, Jr. age 69 of Cookeville passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at his brother’s residence in Sparta. He was born October 23, 1948 in Aurora, Illinois to the late Jack Roy, Sr and Josephine Louise Ferrario Fiefer. Mr. Fiefer was a retired Oil Refinery Foreman. He is survived by his brother: James Fiefer of Sparta along with other relatives and friends. Mr. Jack requested to be cremated and no services are planned.

Memorial services form Mrs. Amy Catherine Jumisko Bennett, age 75, of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Friday June 8 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. until time of services. Amy passed away at her home on Wednesday morning June 6, 2018.

Funeral Services for Jimmy L. Rodgers, age 80, of Cookeville will be held Friday, June 8, 2018 beginning at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Frank officiating. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery Cemetery. Rodgers passed from this life Monday, June 4, 2018 at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. He was born Saturday, November 20, 1937 in Cookeville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Carmon and Buna (Sliger) Rodgers. Jimmy was a loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, and Friend to all that knew him. He was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church of Cookeville, and loved hunting and being outdoors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday June 7, 2018 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Friday, from 1:00pm until the time of service at 2:00pm.

A Celebration of Life of Nancy Clark Taliferro Owen, age 74, of Cookeville, and formerly of Sun City West, Arizona, will be at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 8th at Heritage Pointe Senior Living, 1030 S. Maple, Cookeville. Mrs. Owen passed away Wednesday morning, May 23, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Nancy was born in Davenport, Iowa on April 3, 1944, the only child of the late Paul Clark and the late Marjorie Hostetler Clark Taliferro. Nancy was 17 when adopted by the late W.R. Taliferro of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky. She graduated from Transylvania College in KY. She was married for 35 years to the late Dr. Edwin Owen, who preceded her in death in 2012. She is survived by many cousins in the Cookeville area: Kay & Mike Detwiler, Susan Detwiler Dalton & Larry Suggs, Michael Jr. & Shawn Detwiler, Mary Katherine Detwiler, Levi Detwiler, and Abigail Dalton all of Cookeville. Also cousins Karen & Robert Brown and Mike Brown of Walling, Karlyn & Jake Reel and Jacob Brown of Knoxville, Kelsey & Drew Hawkins of Jackson, TN, Daniel Watson of Blacksburg, VA and Carol & Tom Attig of Batavia, IL. She is also survived by her two step-sons, Andrew Owen and Kobi Conaway of San Francisco, CA, and step-son, John and Cindy Owen of Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cookeville Humane Society; 180 Miller Rd; Cookeville, TN 38501 or the AZ Schnauzer Rescue, 2173 W. Enfield Dr., Chandler, AZ 85286.

Funeral services for Mr. William Quitman Ledbetter, age 73 of Livingston, will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 10 AM from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home Of Livingston with burial to follow in the Ferrell Cemetery located in Alpine, Overton Co., TN. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 8th starting at 6 PM until 9 PM. Ledbetter passed away from this life on Wednesday, June 06, 2018 at the Overton Co. Health and Rehab. Mr. William Quitman Ledbetter was born on Saturday, December 16, 1944 in Livingston, Overton Co., TN to the late Sewell and Lois Ledbetter. Quitman worked on Construction as a block and brick layer.

A memorial service for Mr. Kenneth Carter, age 87 of Algood, will be held Saturday, June 9th at 1:00 p.m. at Algood United Methodist Church. Rev. Albert Willis will officiate. Mr. Carter’s family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Carter died Sunday morning, June 3rd at Signature Healthcare of Putnam Co. in Algood.

Memorial services for Ed Edenfield, age 66, of Baxter, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday June 9 at Cookeville First Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home and again Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Edenfield passed away Thursday morning May 24, 2018 at his home.

Funeral Services for Kenneth Edward Grizzle, 54 of Cookeville, will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 10 , 2018 from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with full military honors. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Grizz passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Grizz was born Wednesday, October 23, 1963 in Cookeville, he was the son of the late Charles Grizzle and Maria (Libed) Grizzle. Grizz graduated from Upperman High School in 1982 and then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he completed the Fire Protection Specialist Course which allowed him to serve as a fire fighter. After his Air Force service, he attended trade school for Union Carbide at the Y-12 Oakridge Plant where he learned to be a Pipefitter. He also attended Florida Community College in Jacksonville, where he recieved his Postsecondary Training Certificate in Business Software Applications. He later went on to be a Combination Welder which he received his training from the State Area Vocational-Technical School in Livingston. Grizz is survived by: Mother: Maria Tresa (Libed) Grizzle of Cookeville and formerly of San Juan, Puerto Rico. 2 Brothers: Glenn Grizzle of Knoxville; John Grizzle of Cookeville; Niece: Tia Johnson of Cookeville. Grizz was preceded in death by his father. Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday, June 9, 2018 and Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 1:00 pm until time of services at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
