Paul Gilpatrick, Age 81, Of Monterey, Passed Away On Wednesday, July 11, 2018, At The Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangments are incomplete.

Funeral Services for Mr. Glenn H. Ramsey, 86 of Cookeville will be Friday, July 13th at 1:00 p.m. at Cookeville First United Methodist Church. Mr. Ramsey died Monday morning July 9, 2018 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 – 1:00 at the church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Inez Thrasher, age 85, of the Fellowship Community will be conducted at 2 P.M. on Friday, July 13, at Livingston First Baptist Church. Bro. Scott Allred will officiate. Burial will be in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Thrasher passed peacefully from this life on Sunday morning, July 8, 2018, in the comfort of her home. She was born in Overton County, August 18, 1932 to the late James Walter & Eula Reeder Vaughn. She was a 1950 graduate of Livingston Academy and a member of the Livingston First Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, and sewing with her church family. Inez leaves her son, David Thrasher & wife Beverly of Livingston; daughter, Dr. Karen Thrasher Carroll & husband Ronnie of Knoxville; grandchildren, Gregg Rader, Nick Rader, Nicole Hughes, Danielle Srock, Matt Thrasher, Nate Thrasher & Kayla Cope; great grandchildren, Jake Hughes, Mia Hughes, Charlie Srock, Finn Srock, Huxley Thrasher, & Tyson Cope. In addition to her parents, Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Thrasher, son, Billy Joe Thrasher; brothers, Derward Vaughn, Raleigh Vaughn, Cratus Vaughn, & Milburn Vaughn sisters, Eddis Sells, and Agnus Bilbrey. The family will welcome friends from 5 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, July 12, and from 12 noon until time of service on Friday at Livingston First Baptist Church. Memorial Donation can be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Funeral services for Earl Ryan Barnes, age 36, of Sparta, will be held at 5 pm on Friday, July 13, 2018, in the chapel of Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at a later date in Highland Cemetery. Ryan passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018, in Sparta. He was born on January 28, 1982 in Houston, Texas to Leslie Barnes, Jr. and Wanda Roberts Barnes. Surviving family members include the following: children – Calli, Jamison and Aubrey; mother – Wanda Barnes of Sparta; sister – Marie Amsdill and Timothy of North Carolina; brother – Cason Barnes and Pamela of Maryland; grandmother – Jean Roberts of Sparta; special friend – Jessica Hughes; Many nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive. Ryan was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Roberts; two uncles, Danny and Terry Roberts. Visitation with the family will be held Friday, prior to the service, from 2pm until 5pm at the funeral home.

Funeral Services for Mr. James Harvey Smith, 69, of Cookeville will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Johnny Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Springs Cemetery. Mr. Smith passed away Wednesday morning at his home. He was born on June 11, 1949 in Cookeville to the late Walter A. and Rittie Catherine Welch Smith. Harvey worked at Wilson Sporting Goods for many years before working for the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department for 10 years. He is survived by 2 sisters, Alberta Robinson and Linda Curfman; and a brother, Robert Smith and wife Alice all of Cookeville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Smith; step-daughter, Stephanie Stover; brothers, Walter Jr., Eugene, Donald, Billy, Dean and Terry; and sisters, Hazel McBroom, Virginia Randolph and Reba Ligget. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00-8:00pm and again on Saturday from 9:00am until the time of services at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Garry M. Short, age 59 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral home. Garry passed from this life Monday, July 9, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born Monday, September 15, 1958 in Cookeville, he was the son of the late James Short and the late Mazie (Bohannon) Eldridge. Garry enjoyed his motorcycle, horses and trading on anything. He was a friend to everyone that knew him. He is survived by: 1 Son: Christopher S. McNeilly-Short of Cookeville; 1 Sister and Brother-in-law: Diane and Lloyd Elrod of Baxter; 3 Brothers: Wayne Short of Cookeville, Ricky Short of Cookeville, and Randy Short of Cookeville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his Wife, Deborah Jo Short.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Ruth Linder Smith, age 85, of Alpine will be conducted 2 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. John Copeland will officiate. Burial will be in the Hancock Cemetery. Mrs. Anna Ruth passed from this life on Wednesday morning, July 11, 2018 from the Signature Heatlhcare in Algood. She was born in Overton County on May 4, 1933 to the late Claude & Bonnie Owens Linder. Anna Ruth was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Alpine. She loved college basketball and piecing quilts. Anna Ruth leaves her son, Kevin Smith of Alpine; granddaughter, Daniela Smith of Livingston; grandson, Drew Smith of Livingston; great grandchildren, Braxton Smith and Jaylen Cooper; sister, Jewell Linder of Alpine; and special cousin, Jerry Linder & wife Ann of Alpine. In addition to her parents, Anna Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Carver Eugene Smith. The family will welcome friends on Friday evening from 5 until 9 p.m., at Speck Funeral Home.
