Rev. William “Jack” Taylor, age 81 of Cookeville, died Wednesday evening, August 29th at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete.

Graveside Services for Donald Ray “Don” Woffod, age 71 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 beginning at 10:00am at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with Bro. Steve Thornton officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Don passed from this life Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born Thursday, September 5, 1946 in Waco, TX. He was the son of the late Rhoten P. and Nina (Edwards) Wofford. He is survived by his Wife: June (Abel) Wofford of Cookeville; 1 Brother and Sister-in-law: Charles and Jeanine Wofford of Dallas, Texas; 1 Sister-in-law: Mona Wofford of Dallas, Texas; Several Nieces and Nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a Brother Kenneth Wofford. The family will receive friends at Crest Lawn Funeral Home Friday, August 31, 2018 from 9:00am until time of service at 10:00am.

Funeral services for Ulysses Henry Norris, 86 of Sparta, will be held at 1pm on Friday, August 31 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Ulysses passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at his residence. Born Friday, May 27, 1932 in Collinsville, Alabama, he was the son of the late Lewis Norris and the late Ruby Johnson Norris. He was the husband of Francis Cooper Norris; and the father of Steven Norris and the late William Norris. Family will receive friends from 11am until the time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Alzheimer’s Associaton or Avalon Hospice.

Memorial services for Lenora J. Hester, 79, of Manitowoc, WI, and formerly of Cookeville, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. on Friday, August 31, at the funeral home. She was born in Cookeville, TN on February 4, 1939 to the late Henrietta Johnson and Arthur M. Johnson. She attended college at Tennessee Technological University, where she met her late husband Alonzo (Lonnie) Hester. Lenora worked as an administrative assistant early in their marriage, supporting Lonnie as he finished graduate school. For most of her life Lenora took great pride in her role as a mother and a homemaker, helping her family grow and thrive during multiple moves for Lonnie’s career, settling in Hastings, NE for more than 20 years before Lonnie retired in 2003. Lenora spent her final years living near her daughter, Julie, in Manitowoc, WI. She is remembered by her family and friends as caring, loving, and devoted, never forgetting a birthday or an anniversary and always ready to help anyone in need. Lenora is survived by her daughter, Dr. Julia Hester-Diaz and husband Dr. Alfred Diaz of Manitowoc, WI; two sons, Reid Hester and wife Jennifer of Cincinnati, OH, and Michael Johnson of Plano, TX; grandchildren Christian Diaz, Isabel Diaz, Dianna Hester, and Jonathan Hester; one brother, Jack Johnson and wife Sandy of Cookeville, TN, brother-in-law Guy Hester and wife Vicki of Leoma, TN; sisters-in-law Carla Cribbs and husband John of S. Daytona Beach, FL, Connie Fife and husband Jim of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Freda Perry and husband Donny of Lawrenceburg, TN; and various nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Joe Christopher Scott, 53, of Hilham, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, August 31, 2018, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in Jackson County. He passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born July 23, 1965, in Gainesboro, to the late Edgar Lushion Scott and Mary Alice Scott. He was married to Renea Scott, who survives. He was an automotive factory worker, and a member of the Dodson Branch Community Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Edgar Lushion Scott; 1 Nephew: Terry Michael Hoskins; and 1 Niece: Cheri Elise Crabtree. Survivors include his Wife: Renea Scott of Hilham; 3 Sons: Joe Scott II, Jonathon Scott, and Austin Scott, all of Hilham; 2 Daughters: Tasha Scott and husband, Jesse Fuller of Granville, and Amber Tovar and husband, Josh of San Antonio, TX; 8 Grandchildren: Cameron, Anna, Amelia, Joe III, Lyric, Emma, Savanna, and Braxton; 1 Brother: Billy D. Scott of Cookeville; and 3 Sisters: Debbie Scott of Livingston, Glenda Christian of Gainesboro, and Teresia Scott of Livingston. Funeral Services for Brenda K. Moon, age 60 of Cookeville will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 beginning at 10:00am from the Chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Floyd officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Brenda passed from this life Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at her home. She was born Friday, February 28, 1958 in Clinton, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Cordell and Alta Pennycuff. Brenda is survived by her Husband: Mike Gendron of Cookeville. 1 Daughter and Son-in-law: Lisa and Eddie Cowen of Cookeville. 1 Son: Josh Moon of Cookeville. 5 Grandchildren: Madison, Charles, Granville, Neena, and Angle. In addition to her parents Brenda is preceded in death by a Son Granville Moon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, August 31, 2018 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.

Funeral services for Mr. Donald Wayne “Don” Pearson, age 80 of Sparta, owner off Sparta Office Supply, will be conducted at 11:00am Saturday, September 1, 2018 at West Sparta Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Bush’s Chapel Cemetery is Sumner County at 3:00pm. Mr. Pearson passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Mr. Pearson was born July 11, 1938 in Sumner County to the late Henry Sherman & Edith Faye Woodward Pearson. After completing Draughn’s Business College in 1958, Don worked for HG Hills and Cooper & Martin grocery stores. He moved to Sparta in 1966 with his wife Rita and two children, opening Cooper & Martin where Floyd’s Cash Saver currently operates. In 1972, Don opened Sparta Office Supplies in downtown Sparta, where it still remains. For over 40 years, Don enjoyed working with the many city and county officials, retail business owners, and professional people of Sparta. One of his greatest pleasures was visiting with his customers. In addition to his parents, Don is also preceded in death by his sister Frances Hall and grandson Robert Gregory Lynn. Don is survived by his loving wife of almost 58 years, Rita Gregory Pearson; their two children, Mike Pearson & wife Tammy of Cottontown, and Tina Fowler & husband Gary of Franklin; granddaughters Rachel Fite & husband John of OK, Brittany Crouch & husband Robert of Ashland City, and Caitlin Kelley & husband Mac of Portland, TN; great-grandchildren Lucy, Frank, Rose & Ruby Fite and Tucker & Lilly Crouch, who gave him so much laughter and fun; sister Ardina Jones & husband Jay of Bowling Green, KY; so many loving nieces and nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Friday from 5-8pm at the church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Robertson, age 97 of Cookeville will be held Saturday September 1 at 11 a.m. at Cookeville First Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Robertson’s family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner and Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Diedri “De” Sue Carlin, 73, of Cookeville, will be Saturday September 1 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the River Community Church. De passed away suddenly Friday morning August 17, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born April 22, 1945 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Harlan and Donna Seright Updegraff. De was an Registered Nurse for 44 years, having worked at Cookeville Regional Medical Center for eight years prior to retirement in 2016. She was a member of the River Community Church and loved to spend time with her friends, the “River Chicks.” She and husband Jerry were members of the Pistons Car Club. De is survived by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Carlin of Cookeville, who she married December 6, 1980 in Atlanta, IL; daughter, Kimberleigh (Robert) Davis of Huntington Beach, CA; brother, Harlan Updegraff III of Granville; five grandchildren, Luke, Matthew and Andrew Davis of Huntingon Beach, Cody Dodd of Cookeville, and Lyndsay Dodd of Dublin, GA; nieces, Sarah Hollar of Anaheim, CA, Christie Roberts of Colorado Springs, CO, and Amanda (Drew) Lyndsay of Athens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Jerri Lynn Dodd; and step-son, Michael Carlin. Because of De’s love for animals, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Cookeville/Putnam County Animal Shelter, 2650 Gainesboro Grade, Cookeville, TN 38501.

Funeral Services for Margie Louise Chaney, 92 of Sparta, will begin at 12:00 PM. Saturday, September 1, 2018 in the chapel of Thurman Funeral. Internment at Davis Cemetery led by Sisters Cheers. Margie went peacefully to be with the Lord on August 27, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Hospital. Margie was born on January 26, 1926 in Sparta, to Amos Fisk and Ama Lou Leftwich-Fisk. Her life’s work was caring for her husband, children and grandchildren. Margie loved the Lord, singing, flowers, cooking, and being with her family. Margie is survived by her loving husband, Samuel (Sam) Lee Chaney Sr.; son, Willard (Tube) Lowery; daughter, Maxine Chaney Glimps; ,grandchildren, Saxton Lowery, Isha and Lori Chaney and Cassandra Nicole Peppers; great grandchildren, Curronica Lowery, Mahayla Lowery, Hali and Chris Howard and Hillary and Blake Huddleston; Ahralyn Peppers, great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephew. Special friend Felecia Buck and family. She is preceded in death by her parents; son; Samuel (Boo Boo) Lee Chaney Jr.; daughter, Deborah Diane Lowery Hogan; grandson, Curron (Brother) Lowery; sister and brother. Funeral services for Ms. Clara Qualls, age 92, of Algood, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday September 1 at the Algood Family Event Center with Bro. Kelly Stockton and Bro. Albert Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Algood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time. Ms. Qualls passed away Tuesday morning August 28, 2018 at Cedars Hills Senior Living in Cookeville.

Funeral service for Darryl Curtis Hickey, 53 of Sparta, will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with David Lee England and Rudy Oakes officiating. Burial will follow in Blankenship Cemetery in Spencer. Darryl passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at his residence. Born Tuesday, December 8, 1964 in Pikeville, he was the son of James “Bud” Hickey and Katherine “Kay” Hickey. In addition to his parents, survivors include sister, Cheryl Sullivan of Sparta; nephew, Zachary Tyler Sullivan of Sparta; special friends, Danny O’Dell, Kyle O’Dell, Mary Bailey, and Wayne Presley ; special family, David, Patsy, Shawn, Amy and Alexus Solomon; special caregiver, Chris Gamble and husband Rick; Lifelong friend, David Lee England, and a special thank you to Dr. Ty Webb and all his staff. Funeral services for Mrs. Patricia Ann Hudgins, 65, of Hilham, will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in Jackson County. She passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at her residence. She was born July 28, 1953, in Hattiesburg, MS, to the late Sam S. Smith and Lottie Mae Smith. She was married to Roy Lonnie Hudgins, who survives. She worked as an assistant director of nursing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 Brothers and 2 Sisters. Survivors include her Husband: Roy Lonnie Hudgins of Hilham; 1 Son: Christopher Lonnie (Carla) Hudgins of Baxter; 4 Daughters: Lawana Dawn (Daniel) Webb of Hermitage, Amanda Mae Hudgins of Granville, Angela Faith Barrett of Lebanon, and Andrea Hope (Jacob) Garza of Frisco, TX; 12 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; 5 Brothers; and 1 Sister. Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Faye Wallace Bumbalough, age 69 of Sparta, will be conducted 11:00am Monday, September 3, 2018 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Clouse Cemetery. Mrs. Bumbalough, age 69 of Sparta, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018. Mrs. Bumbalough was born April 20, 1949 in Sparta to the late James Edgar and Della Mae Baker Wallace. She was a waitress at Nick’s Restaurant in Cookeville for 25 years. Wanda loved music, specifically Elvis and Randy Travis, hunting for treasures at yard sales, and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Wanda is also preceded in death by her siblings Nina Hale, Elsie Crowe, Lillian Walker, Scarlett Lehman, Russell Wallace and Robert Wallace. She is survived by her Husband of 47 years, Bobby Bumbalough; Daughter: Amanda Young; Son: Ricky Bumbalough; Grandchildren: Kyle Young, Angel Young; Great Grandchildren: Aubrey, LaManna, Makaylene, Lena, Myles; Great Grandbaby on the way: Delyliah; Brother: Lloyd Wallace & wife Gail; Special Friend: Brenda Barker; Father of her grandchildren: Rodger Young; Several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Bobby Wilhite will officiate the service.

Memorial Service for Lee Alan Vickers, 71 of Sparta, will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 829 Vally View Drive, Sparta, TN on Monday, September 3, 2018. Lee passed away peacefully on August 27, 2018 at Wyndridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossville after a hard fought battle with brain cancer. He was born October 31, 1946 to Marjorie A. Knodle and Donald N. Vickers. Lee was a veteran of U.S.M.C., having served honorable in Vietnam. He was a design engineer for many years with Bucyrus. He was a brother Knight in the Knights of Columbus, Council 14902. He was also a member of the Sparta Garden Club. He is survived by his two daughters, Aimee Watson of Camden, S.C. and Leann Earnest of Altus, OK. He has two grandchildren, three sisters, Ellen (Richard) Scott, North Aurora, IL., Suzan (Jay) Brown, Memphis, and Peggy Latchford, DePue, IL many nieces and nephews and his best friend of (60) years, Sherry Hickey, Sparta. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Mary Sterling. Visitation will be held at 9:30am and a Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am. Lunch will follow. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to St. Andrew Church.

Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Kenny Norris, age 58, of Livingston will be conducted 6 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from the Monroe Christian Church. Bro. Steven Barlow will officiate. Kenny passed from this life on Monday morning, August 27, 2018 at his home. He was born May 8, 1960, in Overton County to the late Tommy & Lorene Duty Norris. He was a 1978 graduate of Livingston Academy. Kenny loved music and being with his cousin Pam and his dog, Bella. Kenny leaves his cousin, Pamela Duty Bullington of North Port, FL; several other cousins and aunts and uncles; caretakers, Mike & Amanda Presley. In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Bunch Norris; brothers, Bobby and Billy Norris. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until time of services at 6 p.m., at the Monroe Christian Church.

Mr. Neal Was Born On March 9, 1943, In New Castle, Indiana, To The Late Clyde W. And Catherine Pierce Neal. Mr. Neal Was Retired From General Motors In Anderson, Indiana, Where He Worked For 42 Years. He Was A Member Of Life Church And Loved His Church Family. He Was A Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, And Friend. He Is Survived By His Wife, Doris Looper Neal Of Livingston, TN; Daughter And Son-In-Law, Lisa C. And Brian Inman Of Indianapolis, IN; Son And Daughter-In-Law, Allen J.
