Mr. Danny T. Young, age 61 of Smithville, formerly of Sparta, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at his residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
Claudean Wilson, Age 83, Of Clarkrange, Tennessee, Passed Away On Friday, March 23, 2018, At Signature Healthcare Of Putnam County In Algood, Tennessee. Mrs. Wilson Was Born On April 3, 1934, In Clarkrange, Tennessee, To The Late Owen And Vernie Elmore Miller. Mrs. Wilson Was A Factory Worker. She Was Baptist In Faith. She Is Survived By, 3 Daughters And 2 Sons-In-Law, Pamela Pursley Of Dyersburg, TN, Carol And Dale Duke Of The Dodson Branch Community, Jennifer And Robert Wilson Of Clarkrange, TN; 1 Son, Randell Wilson Of Clarkrange, TN; 7 Grandchildren; Numerous Great Grandchildren; 1 Sister, Reba Swallows Of Clarkrange, TN; And 1 Brother, Wendell Miller Of Chattanooga, TN. In Addition To Her Parents, She Was Preceded In Death By Her Husband, Elmer Wilson; Granddaughter, Brittany Pursley; 2 Sisters, Eula Bilbrey And Jewel Phillips; And 1 Brother, Glen Miller. Her Wishes Of Cremation Are Being Honored With Services Planned At A Later Date.
Funeral Services for Clyde McKinley Parks, Jr., 53, of Cookeville will be held at 6:00pm, Monday, March 26, 2018 from the chapel of Presley Funeral Home. Following his funeral services Mr. Parks will be cremated as he requested. Mr. Parks passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born July 29, 1964 in Cookeville to Treva Campbell Parks Ulrich and the late Clyde McKinley Parks, Sr. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sisters, Angela Jones and husband Greg of Cookeville, Pamela Parks of Mt. Juliet; brothers, John and Steve Parks of Nashville; nephew, Austin Parks; nieces, Felicia Parks, Alesha and Daresha Coleman and Carrie Jones. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00pm until the time of the services at the funeral home.
Funeral services for Lawrence B. “Larry” Welch, 95, of Cookeville will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Bro. Seth Presley and Sid Gilbreath officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Welch passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County. He was born Wednesday, October 18, 1922 in Burningtown, North Carolina to the late Christopher Columbus Welch and Gracie M. Smiley Welch. Mr. Welch was raised in North Carolina and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Western Carolina University. He taught in North Carolina schools and at one time owned and operated a supermarket there. During World War II, he was a gunner on a B-24, making and surviving 69 missions. In Alaska, Mr. Welch taught in Barrow at Koyuk Day School. He was an education specialist for Bethel schools and at Nome, then served as principal at Barrow and Kotzebue before going to Sitka. He was the only principal to serve at all three of the larger BIA Alaska schools. Mr. Welch loved to garden, entertain friends and devote time to community service especially projects dealing with youngsters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Jean Welch. He is survived by his son, Michael Welch and wife Amy and their son Christopher; nephews, Dennis Maynard and Donald Maynard. The family will receive friends Tuesday 9:00 am until service time at the funeral home.

Randall passed on Friday, March 23, 2018, at his home. Randall was born Saturday, March 10, 1962 in Cookeville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Ralph and Ina Brown McBroom. Surviving son, Randall W. McBroom of Wiggins, MS. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
Graveside services for John Davis, Jr., age 70, of Cookeville will be Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 2:30 PM in Phillips Cemetery. Mr. Davis passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at his home.
Funeral services for Mr. Danny Thomas Young, age 61 of Smithville, formerly of Sparta, will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in the Highland Cemetery. Danny passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at his residence. He was born September 4, 1956 in White County to the late Ernest Haskel and Ethel Lorene Rich Young. Danny worked at Federal Mogul for over 30 years. He loved the University of Tennessee Football and an avid fan of the Pittsburg Steelers. He was a member of the Smithville Church of Christ. Survivors include his daughter: Tara Young and partner Hannah Young of Cookeville; 2 Brothers: Bo Young and Robert Young both of Sparta; Sister-in-law: Louella Young-Borgen of Woodbury; Granddaughter: Jalynn Nicole Young; Mother of his daughter: Debbie Young; Along with several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. The family will receive friends after 12 noon on Tuesday.
Funeral Services for Kimberly “Kim” Ann Smith, 56 of Gainesboro, will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 30, 2018 from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Allen officiating. Interment will be in the Campground Cemetery in Clarkrange. Kim passed from this life on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at her home. Kim was born Tuesday, April 18, 1961 in Winchester, Indiana and she was the daughter of the late Dallas Eugene and Mary F. (Petty) Wright. Kim was a loving daughter, wife, mom, and MaMaw. She was loved by all that knew her. Kim is survived by: Husband: Scott Smith of Gainesboro’ 4 Children: Scott II and Tashionna Smith, Ashley Wright, Brandy and Abraham Andres, Frankie Jo Tucker; 17 Grandchildren; 4 Siblings: Dallas Eugene Wright and Jenny and Mike Hargrove, Doug Wright, Maryanne Wright; A host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Kim was preceded in death by: Son, Jeremy Wright. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

Mr. Dwight loved hunting and model cars. Survivors include his wife, Maria Luna of Smithville; son, Brian Luna of Smithville; daughter, Heather Guy (Randy) of Sparta; brother, Larry Luna (Angela) of Smithville; sister, Bonnie Chacon (Marco) of Smithville; step-daughter, Ayde Ray; 2 grandchildren, Sierra Hendrien and Dakota Hendrien, and many friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dwight Edward Luna.
