Mr. Harold McCartney, age 92, of Algood, passed away Sunday morning at his residence. Arrangements are incomplete.

Amy E. Clouse Springston, age 44 of Sparta, passed away Sunday morning at her residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Mr. Billy Dubree, age 67, of Cookeville, passed away Saturday June 23 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Mr. Carlos Voyd Ledford, age 84, of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday June 26 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmie Simpson officiating. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday 11 a.m. until service time. Mr. Ledford peacefully passed away Sunday morning June 24, 2018 at his home. He was born October 9, 1933 in Overton County, TN to the late Ray and Beulah Newberry Ledford. Mr. Ledford was retired from Michigan Carton Company in Battle Creek, MI with over 47 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, maintaining a spotless automobile and immaculate lawn, and tending a garden. He and his wife Mary are members of Stevens Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Langford Ledford, who he married January 29, 1953 in Cookeville; two daughters, Patricia (John) Glass of Morris Plains, NJ, and Sandra Magnuson of Cookeville; sister, Nella Rae (Floyd) Bilbrey of Crossville; two grandchildren, Meredith Hutchings and Blake Magnuson of Cookeville; and great-grandchild, Tyler Magnuson. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s TN 1459 Interstate Dr #211, Cookeville, TN 38501.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Marie Hensley Looper, age 86 of Spencer, will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday June 26, 2018 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Graveyard Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. Looper passed away Sunday morning June 24, 2018 at Life Care Center of Sparta. Mrs. Looper was born March 1, 1932 in the Calfkiller Community of Putnam County to the late Alred Earl & Mary Bessie Brown Hensley. She was a homemaker and former babysitter. She enjoyed gardening alongside her late husband A.B. Looper. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by brothers J.R. Hensley, Don Hensley and Richard Hensley; sister Jean Hamlin. Surviving family members include her son Bobby Lopper; Two brothers Leroy (Bonnie) Hensley, Jim (Dorothy) Hensley; Two sisters: Maxine Hensley (Marvin) Lewis, Mary McBroom; A host of nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Helen Edwards, age 91, of Cookeville, will be at 1:30 p.m. est. Tuesday June 26 at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 2 – 8 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home in Chattanooga. Mrs. Edwards passed away Friday June 22, 2018 to her granddaughter’s home in Cookeville.

Funeral Services for Lee Monroe Williams, 80 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Monroe passed from this life on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at his home. Monroe was born Wednesday, March 2, 1938 in Buffalo Valley, he was the son of the late Roy and Gladys(Rittenberry) Williams. Monroe worked very hard his entire life and very seldom missed a days work which allowed him to provide for his wife and eight children. He was a loving son, wonderful husband, caring dad and wonderful PaPa. Monroe loved his family but most especially his grandchildren. Monroe is survived by: 8 Children: Myra Faye and Randall Hancock, Ricky Williams, Donald Ray Williams, Michael and Belinda Williams, Michelle and Steve Conley, Tony and Heather Williams, Christina and Zeb Douglas, Tonya Williams; 17 Grandchildren: Jacqueline, Jonathan, Christopher, Emmaleigh, Kaia, Ariel, Mya, Allee, Alivia, Matthew, Kaylee, Maddie, McKenzie, Isabella, Haylea, Zack, and Brayden; Great-Grandchild: C.J. McMullen; 4 Brothers: Robert, David, Junior, and James Williams; Sister: Emma Williams. A host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Monroe was preceded in death by: Wife, Vallie Williams, Granddaughter, Keanea Williams, Brother, Virgil Williams, and 2 Sisters, Wanda and Ollie Williams. Funeral services for Mrs. Amelia Kendrick, age 86, of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday June 27 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m. and again Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time. Mrs. Kendrick passed away Saturday June 23, 2018 at her home in Cookeville.

Funeral services for Rev. Irving Daniel Parker, Sr., age 83 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from the DeRossett Brethren in Christ Church. Burial will follow in Copeland’s Chapel Cemetery with military honors presented by the Veterans’ Honor Guard. Rev. Parker passed away on Saturday evening at his residence. Rev. Parker was born April 24, 1935 in Oyster, Virginia. He was the last surviving child of twelve born to the late George William and Aline Marshall Parker. He was a longtime minister, serving for 63 years. He ministered in Sparta, Smithville, Virginia and Kentucky. Rev. Parker held revivals in 48 states with the two exceptions being Hawaii and Alaska. He served his nation in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents and siblings, he is also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Peggy Bennett Parker; daughter Laura Ann Parker. Surviving family members include his children:Rev. Danny Parker and wife Opal of Smithville, Bruce Parker and wife Bonnie of Sparta, Faith Lynn Parker and husband Jamil Charki of Richmond, VA and Mark Andrew Parker and wife Jamie of Sparta. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Rev. Parker will lie in state from noon until service time Wednesday at the church. Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Emogene Wright, age 87 of Cookeville, will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 2 PM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Wright passed away from this life on Sunday afternoon, June 24, 2018 at the Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville. Mrs. Bessie Emogene Wright was born Monday, May 4, 1931 in Hardy’s Chapel, Overton Co. to the late Herman and Effie (Barnes) Clark. Bessie was an employee at an appliance factory for many years. She loved flower gardening and cats. Survivors include: two children: Marcene and husband Larry Bowers of Fernandina Beach, FL and Darlene and husband Timothy Davenport of Daytona Beach, FL; one grandson: Brandon Davenport; six great-grandchildren: Austin, Evin, Hadin, Rylin, Eastin and Westin Davenport; one brother: Darrel Clark In addition to her parents Mrs. Wright was preceeded in death by her husband Estel B. Wright and twelve siblings. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, June 26, 2018 starting at 4 PM until 9 PM.

Funeral services for Ms. Patricia Ann “Patty” Mullins, age 57 of Sparta, will be conducted 11:00am Thursday, June 28, 2018 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Flat Creek Cemetery in Overton County. Ms. Mullins, age 57 of Sparta, passed away Sunday morning June 24, 2018 at Raintree Manor in McMinnville. Ms. Mullins was born November 14, 1960 in Overton County to the late Marvin Thomas & Anna Lucille Crabtree Mullins. She loved watching television mostly TV Land and playing the board game operation. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by sisters Martha Hickey and Louise Richardson; brothers Charles Mullins and David Mullins. Surviving family members include her siblings Mary Ruth Mullins of Cookeville, Agnes Hedgecough of Cookeville, Jean Benton of Monterey, Virginia Rogers of Michigan, Frank (Jody) Mullins of Sparta, John Henry Mullins of Missouri, Jack Mullins of Sparta. A host of nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends after 9:00am Thursday until service time at Hunter Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Joan passed from this life on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Crest Lawn Funeral Home and on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 10:00 am until time of services at First United Methodist Church of Cookeville.

Mrs. Bilbrey Passed Away On Sunday, June 24, 2018, At The Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Bilbrey Was A Homemaker And Factory Worker. She Was A Member Of Vine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. A memorial service for Faison Young Whitaker, Jr., 88 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, June 29th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Cookeville, TN. White passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in Sparta. Whit is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Beth and George Wood; his son, Eric Whitaker; grandchildren, Chris Whitaker, Michelle Fairfield, and James Fairfield; along with an extended family of nieces, nephews and step-great-grandchildren – all of whom are grateful for his love. Visitation will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Following the service, all guests are welcome to join the family for refreshments. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Chuch of Cookeville, 20 N Dixie Ave., Cookeville, TN 38501.

Celebration of Life Services from Mrs. Linda D. Hatcher Smith, age 65, of Cookeville will be conducted 1 p.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018 from the Fairview Church of Christ in Fairview. Linda passed from this life on June 16, 2018 from the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born July 5, 1952 in Davidson County to the late James Sr, & Geneva Lawson Hatcher. Linda leaves her son, George Edward Smith of Owensboro, Ky; brothers, Larry Hatcher & wife Pam of Franklin, and Jimmy Hatcher & wife Sherrhea of Fairview; 8 nieces and nephews. The family will welcome friends at the time of services at 2001 Fairview Blvd, Fairview, Tenn. 37062.
