Obituaries For Monday, June 11

Jerrell Ray Kirby, age 91 of Sparta, passed away Sunday morning June 10, 2018 at his home. Mr. Kirby was born May 19, 1927 in Sparta, to the late Arlis Lee & Lily Estreal Moore Kirby. He had a vast work career that included owning an Auto Salvage Yard along with a wrecker service. For many years he owned US assembly where he traveled around the country putting bicycles together for Wal Mart and later he delivered school buses for Blue Bird bus company. His hobby was work but he did enjoy fishing and traveling. Mr. Kirby served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Bear Cove Baptist Church. Surviving family members include his wife of 67 years Barbara Kirby; Son: Arthur Ray Kirby and wife Wanda Johnson Kirby; Son: Alan Lee Kirby; Three grandchildren: Candice Babb, Jon Kirby, Josh Kirby; Five great-grandchildren: Victoria Babb, Hunter Kirby, Jaycee Kirby, Cayden Kirby and Kyanna Kirby; Sister: Phyllis Travis and husband James. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Irene Monique Glasner, 77 of Sparta,  passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at her residence. She was born Monday, April 14, 1941 in Tours, France. The family has chosen cremation. No other arrangements have been planned at this time.

Loranzo Potter Greenwood, age 87 of Cookeville, passed from this life Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Signature Health Care of Putnam County in Algood. He was born Tuesday, July 29, 1930 in Cookeville, he was the son of the late Joe and Emily Sue (Stone) Greenwood. Mr. Greenwood is survived by his Wife: Mary Katherine (Foster) Greenwood of Cookeville; 1 Daughter: Lavina Sue Huff of Cookeville; 2 Sons: Dr. Thurston Potter Greenwood of North Carolina, Joseph Foster Greenwood of Cookeville; 6 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Greenwood had chosen cremation and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Funeral services for Homer Bishop Holliman, age 98 of Cookeville, will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday June 12 at Cookeville First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Holliman passed away June 9, 2018, after a short illness in Cookeville. Bishop Holliman was born in Irondale, Alabama, December 17, 1919, to Ulyss and Pearl Caine Holliman. He was preceded in death by his three wives, Geraldine Stansbery Holliman Feick, mother of his three children; Anne McLaughlin Holliman and Ellen Parks Cox Holliman. Also, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Melton, Vena, Euhal, Loudelle, Virginia and Ralph. Mr. Holliman is survived by three children, Glenn N. Holliman (Barbara) of Newport, PA; Rebecca Holliman Payne (Paul) of Cookeville, Tennessee and Alice Holliman Murphy (Bill) of Trophy Club, Texas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Grace Holliman, Bryan Payne, Erin Murphy Hensley, Chris Holliman, Jonathan Murphy, Allison Payne Mahan, Patrick Murphy and Sean Murphy and eighteen great-grandchildren; Will, Holly, Drew, Camille, Juliana, Heidi, Macy, Josalyn, Zachary, Katie Grace, Abel, Raimey, Derek, John, Jake, Killian, Ashton and Mia. Memorial contributions may be given to the Cookeville Friends of the Depot P.O. Box 1034 Cookeville, TN 38503, or First United Methodist Church, 165 East Broad Street, Cookeville, TN 38501.

A gathering of family and friends for Mr. David Wayne Wallace, age 71 of Doyle, will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 5-7:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Mr. Wallace passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at his residence. Hunter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the cremation of Mr. Wallace.
