Obituaries For Monday, July 23

Rhonda Dennis McGahee, age 48 of Sparta, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Graveside services for Mr. Dereck Gordon Bennett, age 48 of Sparta, will be conducted 12:00pm Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Old New Hope Cemetery. Dereck passed away Sunday July 22, 2018 at his residence. Dereck was born February 28, 1970 in White County to Reba Guy Bennett and the late Donald Gordon Bennett. He was a landscaper and former Moeller employee. He was an avid fisherman. In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by his brother James Earl Bennett. Survivors include his wife of 22 years Tammy Pittman Bennett; Son: Jeremy (Meagan) Bennett; Daughter: Deanna (Trey) Armstrong; Grandchildren: Briley Bennett Macie Bennett; Mother: Reba Bennett; Brother: Dewayne Bennett; Sister: Michelle (Emerson) Luna. There will be no visitation before the service.

Funeral Services for Bessie Louise Isom, 82, of Cookeville, will be Tuesday, July 24 at 1 PM from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Isom Cemetery in White County, TN. Pastor Ron Allen and Jimmy Isom will officiate. Mrs. Isom died Friday, July 20, 2018 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was born August 5, 1935 in Cookeville to the late Grady and Effie Jo Pinkston Wooten. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Waymon Edward Isom on November 9, 2015, a daughter Betty Jane Isom. She was a lifelong resident of Cookeville. She was a retired seamstress with Wilson Sporting Goods of Cookeville with 40 years of service. She enjoyed baking wedding, birthday and anniversary cakes. She was a member of Mt. Herman Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Funeral Services for Scott Wayne McCloud, age 52 of Rineyville, KY formerly of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. He passed away peacefully Thursday, July 19, 2018 at his residence. Mr. McCloud was born May 14, 1966 in Cookeville, Tennessee to the late Sherman S. and Estell (Henry) McCloud. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 11 am until time of services at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.

A Memorial service for Rhonda Rena Floyd, 59 of Sparta, will be held at 6pm on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Tracy Curtiss officiating. Rhonda passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born Thursday, December 11, 1958 in Sparta, she was the daughter of the late Eiffie and Josephene Black Simmons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Elise White and Jenny Humphrey. She is survived by her son, Terry Wayne Floyd (Tabatha) of Spencer; grandchildren, Taylor Lee Floyd, Tanner Wayne Floyd, Tara Lee Floyd, and Samantha Marie Floyd; brother, Joe Simmons (Brenda) of Sparta; sister, Wilma Copeland (Gary) of Sparta; many friends, neighbors, nieces, and nephews also survive. The family will welcome friends from 4pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Celebration of Life for Mrs. Karen Sue Hill, 63 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Heavenly Host Lutheran Church. Karen passed from this life on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at her home in Cookeville. Karen was born Sunday, December 26, 1954 in Roswell, New Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Ann (Orton) Clemons. Karen was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mom, and grandma. Karen is survived by: husband, Jim Hill, sons, Scott Lauer of West Palm Beach, Florida and Eric Lauer of Cookeville, Tennessee, daughters, Sara Murdock of Mohawk , Tennessee and Becky Lauer of Smyrna, Tennessee, 8 grandchildren, sisters, Robin G. Clemons of Cookeville, Tennessee and Jo Reid Nichols of Sebastian, Florida.

Memorial services for Mr. Bobby G. Stafford, 66, of Gainesboro, will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the Double Springs Church of Christ in Putnam County. The family has chosen cremation. He passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018, at his residence. He was born March 27, 1952, in Jackson County, to Margaret E. Stafford and the late Eugene Stafford. He was married to Kim Stafford, who survives. He was a forklift driver at Nielsen, and a member of the Free State Church of Christ. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Danny Stafford; 1 Step Daughter: Christy Logsdon; and 1 Step Granddaughter: Lydia Logsdon. Survivors include his Wife: Kim Stafford of Gainesboro; 2 Sons: Matt (Amber) Stafford of Cookeville, and Andy (Niki) Stafford of Cookeville; 1 Daughter: Toni Scantland of Cookeville; 14 Grandchildren; 4 Great-Grandchildren; his Mother: Margaret E. Stafford of Gainesboro, TN; and 1 Sister: Brenda Faye Peek of Gainesboro. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 10 A.M. until time of services.
