Obituaries For Monday, April 30

Mr. Willard “Sonny” Parks, age 85, of Sparta, passed away Monday morning, April 30, 2018 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Ms. Martha “Marty” Thomas age 66 of Livingston passed away at the Hospice of Cumberland County in Crossville on Sunday, April 29, 2018. A Private Family Memorial will be planned at a later date by the family, they have chosen cremation.

Funeral services for Bro. Roger Dale Anderson, age 74, of Livingston will be conducted 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Kerry Duke will officiate. Burial will be in the Netherland Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Monday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home. Roger passed from this life on Sunday morning, April 29, 2018 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born in Putnam County on June 20, 1943 to the late Comer Edward & Dorcas Alene Kirby Anderson. Roger was a 1961 graduate of Livingston Academy and held an Associates Degree in Business. Roger, like his father was minister for many years in the Churchs of Christ. His very first church was at Swallows Chapel Church of Christ then to Flatt Creek Church of Christ, Neelys Crossroads, Albany Church of Christ, Netherland Church of Christ and back to Neelys Crossroad Church of Christ. He also was a broker, realtor and sold cars for many years. Roger also enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and teaching the good news of Christ.

Funeral services for Andrew (Andy) C Yoder, age 80 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday May 1 at 11 a.m. at Willow Avenue Church of Christ with Clarence Deloach and Kent Heaton officiating. Entombment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Yoder, was born to Christ and Rosa Yoder in Kokomo, Indiana, on March 1, 1938. He passed away peacefully at his home in Florida, with his wife and Hospice caring for him, on April 27, 2018. Andy was a gentle giant, loving, caring, kind and compassionate towards others and loved by so many. Upon moving to Cookeville, Tennessee, he was a member of the Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ, where he served as Deacon for several years. Later, he became a member of the Willow Avenue congregation before moving to Florida. Now, he was a member of the Brooksville Church of Christ, Brooksville, Florida. After leaving high school, he served his country as a Conscientious Objector, and was assigned to a Veterans Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana, for two years. He then moved to Amboy, Indiana, where he became a share-cropper. Later, he was able to buy the farm he lived on. Through the years, he was able to buy most of the land that he began farming, and raised corn and soybeans. Andy’s family will receive friends Monday at Willow Avenue Church of Christ from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the Church. Pallbearers are Jim Briggs, Dan Huffines, Art Montgomery, Phil Philips, Tom Spohnholtz and David Vaughn. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please donate to your favorite charity.

Graveside services and interment, with Military Honors, for Roy Herbert “Herb” Campbell, 80 of Cookeville will be held Tuesday May 1 at 12 noon at Odd Fellows Cemetery with Johnny Fox officiating. Herb’s family will receive Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dyer Funeral Home. Herb died suddenly Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his home.

Funeral services for Mr. Finley Clay Rice, age 60 of Sparta, will be conducted 3:00pm Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1-3:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Per Mr. Rice’s wishes, he will be cremated following the funeral service. Paul Allen will officiate. Rice passed away Saturday morning April 28, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Rice was born April 4, 1958 in Dayton, Ohio to Willouise Smith Rice and the late Kelly Franklin Rice, Sr. He worked many years as a glazier and most recently as a manufacturing superviser. He enjoyed gardening, working in his workshop and fishing. In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by a son Jason Mock. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society.

A Memorial Service for Roger Dean Webb, 59 of Sparta, will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Jack Chadwell officiating. Roger passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at NHC Healthcare of Sparta. Born Tuesday, September 2, 1958 in Auxier, Kentucky, he was the son of Elza Webb and Rachel Smith Webb. He is survived by his Son, Roger D. Webb, Jr; Sisters, Virginia Osborne of Auxier, KY, Cora Greathouse of Auxier, KY, Roberta Jett of Springfield, OH, and Cynthia Vickery of Van Lear, KY; Brothers, David Webb of Sevierville, Jim Webb of Auxier, KY and Frank Webb of Auxier, KY; Grandchildren, Gavin Webb, Shayla Webb, Sophia Webb, Riley Webb, Bethany Webb, Caycee Webb, Leah Webb, Daylin Sears, and Rio Hutchens/Sears; and Special friends, Bonnie and David Bryant. Multiple nieces and nephews throughout Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio also survive. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a Son, Jeremy; Sisters, Goldie Webb, Virgie Webb Daniels, Betty Garret, Lilly Greathouse, Vonna Sue Ousley, O’dell Webb, Martha Lawrence, Ruby Nichols, and Minnie Webb, and Brothers, Elza Webb, Jr. and Elmon “Ed” Webb. Family will receive friends from 5pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Roger would have wanted everyone to dress casual, and wear their overalls to his service.
