Funeral services for Donald Wayne Young, age 69, of Cookeville will be held Saturday, September 8th, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Johnny Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Mr. Young passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in Murfreesboro. Donald Wayne Young was born Tuesday, April 26, 1949 in Bloomington Springs, Tennessee to the late Henry Young and Frances Feblene Flatt Young. He was the second oldest of four siblings. Donald was an Army veteran serving in Germany and Vietnam. He dedicated most of his life in education, teaching special education, mathematics, and history. Before retirement, he ran a restaurant for a few years. He had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and music, and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Young; mother Frances Feblene Flatt Young; and sister, Kathy Wentworth. Donald is survived by his wife, Jenell; son, Adam Young; daughter, Emily Young; and his three grandchildren, Kayden, Emmett, and Silas; brother, James Young; and sister, Debbie Rector. Pallbearers will be family, accompanied by special pallbearer, grandson Kayden Campbell. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 7, 2018, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Saturday, September 8, 2018, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Presley Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ann Smith Huddleston, age 89, of Cookeville, will be held Saturday September 8 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Neal and Rev. Lynn Bullock officiating. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at Dyer Funeral Home. Mrs. Huddleston died Wednesday afternoon September 5, 2018 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

His Wishes Of Cremation Are Being Honored With Inurnment In Indiana At Later Date. Mr. Neal Went Home To Be With The Lord On Sunday, August 19, 2018, At The Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mr. Neal Was Born On March 9, 1943, In New Castle, Indiana, To The Late Clyde W. And Catherine Pierce Neal. Mr. Neal Was Retired From General Motors In Anderson, Indiana, Where He Worked For 42 Years. He Was A Member Of Life Church And Loved His Church Family. He Was A Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, And Friend. He Is Survived By His Wife, Doris Looper Neal Of Livingston, TN; Daughter And Son-In-Law, Lisa C. Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Vella Ledbetter passed from this life on Saturday September 1, 2018. Mrs. Vella leaves her daughters, Carol Coleman and husband Johnny, Sue Cassetty and husband Steve; grandchildren, Candy Coleman-Griffith and husband Will, Kelly Coleman, Christie Hummel and husband Chris, Ammie Seitner and husband Al, Marsha Ledbetter Wyatt, and Amanda Turner and husband Kip; great-grandchildren, Mercer Payne and husband Jessy, Coleman Kelley, Mary Grace Kelley, Claire Coleman, William Griffith, Zachary Seitner, Aiden Wyatt, Ava Seitner, Ashlyn Wyatt, Amelia Turner, and Alexander Turner; great-great-grandchildren, Coleman Cash and Campbell Payne; sister, Margaret Naar and husband Bob; also many nieces and nephews who she loved and cared deeply for. Graveside services and interment will follow at 5:30 p.m. (C.S.T.) at Foster Cemetery in Sweetwater. Rev. Epps passed away Monday evening September 3 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. His family will receive friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at DYER FUNERAL HOME.
Funeral services for Mr. Johnie James & Lillie Vietta Foster Ford, ages 77 and 74 of the Fellowship Community, will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, September 9, 2018 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Rev. Randy Pickens will officiate. Burial will be in the Fellowship Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Ford passed from this life on Thursday morning, September 6, 2018 in Monroe. Johnie was born April 6, 1941 in Overton County to the late Estus Hill & Ada Estelle Sells Ford. Mrs. Lillie was born March 18, 1944 in Clay County to the late John Thomas & Rosie Mae Pryor Forster. Johnie loved working and helping his friends and neighbors on the farm at whatever needed to be done. He also enjoyed working and building homes in his younger years and being out in nature, and in the woods squirrel hunting. Mrs. Lillie loved singing in the choir at Fellowship Baptist Church and was known for her beautiful and plentiful garden she grew every year. Johnie and Lillie were members of the Fellowship Baptist Church. They leave their loving son, John Ford & wife Amy of Brotherton Mountain; Johnie’s sisters, Joyce Shoemaker, Maydean Winningham, and Mary Mullins & husband Randy; and Lillie’s brothers, Henry Foster & wife Mary and Willie Ray Foster and wife Grace. Sister Gaye Capps. Johnie was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Shirley Hutchinson and sisters, Nova Stover and Reba Dean Beason. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, brother, J.T. Foster, and sisters, Stella Roe, and Laura Nevins. The family will welcome friends on Saturday afternoon from 4 until 8 p.m., then on Sunday from 12 until time of services at the Livingston Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Burton Kirby, age 90 of Cookeville, will be conducted at 2:00pm Sunday, September 9, 2018 in the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery in Cookeville. Pauline’s grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Pauline passed away Wednesday evening, September 5, 2018 at her daughter’s residence. She was born on February 8, 1928 in Jackson County. She was the daughter of the late Lem and Mandy Minnear Burton and wife of the late Arthur Kirby, World War II Veteran. In addition to her parents and husband, Pauline is also preceded in death by brothers Jeff, Paul and Ralph Burton; sister Ellen Benward; son-in-law Byrd Bumbalough. Pauline was a long-time member of the Willow Avenue Church of Christ in Cookeville. She loved her family, especially her two grandchildren and five great grandsons who called her Granny D. She lived long enough to see her great great granddaughter be born on August 29th, 2018. Pauline is survived by her Daughter: Martha Kirby Bumbalough; Granddaughter: Juli Johnson & husband Jason;Grandson: Kirk Bumbalough & wife Tina; Great Grandsons: Dylan Bumbalough, Tanner Bumbalough, Rylan Bumbalough, Grayson Johnson, Garrett Johnson; Great Great Granddaughter: Cali Grayce Johnson; Brother: Fred Burton & wife Phyllis; Sister: Betty Tinch. Funeral services for Edith Maynard Lowe, 99, of Baxter, will be Sunday, September 9 at 2 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will be in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery in the Boma Community. Mrs. Lowe went to be with her Lord, Thursday evening, September 6, 2018 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born October 14, 1918 in Putnam County to the late Lem and Effie Shanks Brown. She was a charter member of Buckner Community Church (now Buckner Freewill Baptist Church) where she had served as Church Treasurer and Children’s Sunday School Teacher. She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her flowers and working in the garden before her health declined. She loved her Lord, reading her Bible, going to church and gospel singings. She was a great cook and loved being with her family and spending time with them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Floyd Maynard and Iva Truman Lowe, son-in-law Jimmy Ray Dyer, daughter-in-law Lucretia Sutton Maynard, infant brother Willie Brown, grandson Larry Ray Maynard, step-granddaughter Angela Joy Huddleston. Survivors include daughter Shelby Dyer of Baxter, son Harold Loyd Maynard of Nashville, 3 grandchildren: Harold Ralph (Sheri) Maynard of Baxter, James Darren (Chrissy) Maynard of Cookeville, Vicky (Mark) Walker of Alexandria, step-daughter Judy (Fowler) Low, step-granddaughter Charlotte Huddleston (Al) DeVasher of Hendersonville, great-grandchildren: Beth, Rachel, Taylor, Abby and Alex Maynard, Hailey and Brett Walker, Carley and Noah DeVasher and Sam Fountain, many cousins and special friends. Kristy passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12 until the time of service in the Quarles Room at Hunter Funeral Home.
Funeral service for Carol Dean (Goodwin) Roberts, age 81 of Sparta, will begin at 4:30 PM. Monday, September 10, 2018 at East Sparta Church of God. Internment at Saylors Cemetery. Carol went peacefully to be with the Lord on September 4, 2018 at NHC of Sparta. Carol was born on May 18, 1937 in Sparta to Dovie (Lefever) Goodwin and Sydney Goodwin. Carol was a dedicated Christian and a member of East Sparta Church of God. Also inspirational to many, loved her family, her husband of 63 years Buddy, children Denise and Jason and the many children that call her Nana Carol. Her enjoyments were going to church, singing Gods praises and studying Gods word. Her Hobbies were crocheting, tending to her many plants and flowers. Canning and freezing the bounty of vegetables from the garden. It didn’t matter day or night when you called her she was already praying for you. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James (Buddy) Roberts; son, Jason Roberts; daughter, Denise Roberts; 6 grandchildren, Samantha, James, Abbie, Stephine, Melissa, Nikeeta; 3 great grandchildren, Katie, Alex, and Ricky Bruce. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Minnie Bell (Goodwin) Lull; brother, Lonnie Goodwin. Family will accept visitors on Monday, September 10, 2018 at East Sparta Church of God from 1:00 PM till time of service 4:30 PM.
