Mr. James Robert “Bobby” Kinnaird, Jr., 66, of Cookeville, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at his residence. He was born March 15, 1952, in Laurel, MS, to James Robert Kinnaird, Sr. and the late Peggy Kinnaird. He was the County Mayor of Jackson County, and a member of the Fairview Church of Christ. He also served in the U.S. Army National Guard. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother-in-Law: Dale Flatt. Survivors include 2 Sons: J.R. (Sarah) Kinnaird and Ross (Sara) Kinnaird, all of Cookeville; 1 Daughter: Rebecca Kinnaird of Cookeville; his Father: James Robert Kinnaird, Sr. of Cookeville; 3 Brothers: Ronnie Kinnaird of Gainesboro, Randy Kinnaird of Cookeville, and Dennis Kinnaird of Cookeville; 1 Sister: Debbie Flatt of Gainesboro; and 2 Grandchildren: Shayla Kinnaird and Tyler Kinnaird. The family has chosen cremation, with no services at this time.
Funeral services for Nishant Soni, age 38, of Cookeville, will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday March 17 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Nishant passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born July 6, 1979 in Arlington, TX to Dr. Bharat and Purnima Soni of Cookeville. Nishant was a special person. He communicated through facial expressions and his innocent smile and got connected with friends and family. In true sense, he was a saint for his family and friends and everyone who came in touch with him feel blessed. In addition to his parents, Nishant is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Niraj and Jinal Soni of Franklin; nephew, Arin Soni; and several friends and extended family. Funeral services for Mrs. Anna “Ann” Karch, age 91, of Cookeville, will be held Saturday March 17 at 11 a.m. at Cookeville First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Welch Memorial Cemetery in Monterey. Mrs. Karch’s family will receive friends Friday from 4 p. m. until 8 p.m. at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

The family will welcome friends on Friday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. Mrs. Garrett passed from this life on Thursday morning, March 15, 2018 in the comfort of her home. She was born in Overton County on February 14, 1952 to the late C.B. & Lucy Eldridge Ray. Linnie was a member of the Union Hill Church. She loved her family and grandchildren very much and cherished every moment she had with them. She enjoyed going to church and listening to her Bible on CD’s. Ms. Lee passed from this life Sunday, March 11, 2018, at her home in Gainesboro. She was born Friday, May 27, 1927, in Winthrop, Massuchetts to the late Harold G. and Annie G. (McAulisse) Leighton. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, and was part of the welcoming committee for the Pope when he came to Florida. She loved to travel and especially loved Tennessee. Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Pattie and Rick Ditewig of Wisconsin, Ann Marie and John Santiago of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 1 Daughter-in-law: Susan Lee of Gainesboro; 13 Grandchildren; 38 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; 1 Sister: Rita Kronhleim. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Lee, 2 Sons, Leighton and Gary Lee, 1 Daughter, Dixie Lee, and 3 Sisters. Celebration of Life for Bettye A. Savage, age 82 of Sparta, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Doyle, Tennessee. Bettye was born Tuesday, June 25, 1935 in White City, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Bessie (Fletcher) Dent. Bettye was a pastor’s wife who served 58 years with her husband Ray. She served on the Kentucky district Nazarene missions council. Bettye was a representative for her local church at general assemblies, district assemblies, mission conventions, and served as a faithful Sunday school teacher. Bettye was a devoted wife, loving daughter, loyal sister, wonderful mom and a kind and caring grandmother and great-grandmother. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 16, 2018 and Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 9:00 am until time of services at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

He was born June 2, 1958, in Woodbury, TN, to the late Henry Denson and Irene Denson. On January 23, 1993, he was married to Patricia Denson, who survives. He worked in factory maintenance. He loved hunting and fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Granddaughter: Makenzie Allen; and 2 Brothers: Oscar Denson and Bobby Denson. John passed away Wednesday March 14, 2018 in Chattanooga, TN. He was born March 9, 1938 in Valdosta, GA to the late Kenneth Albert and Faye Collins Monk. John was a member and deacon of Bangham Heights Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard. He was a retired detective with the Fort Pierce, FL Police Department. John served in many civic and community organizations. He was a 32 Degree Mason and member of Fort Pierce Lodge 87 FA&M. He also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, past president of the Putnam County Shrine Club, member of the Algood Lions Club, and member of the Putnam County Walking Horse Association. John loved being outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing, gardening, boating and scuba diving. He also enjoyed observing wildlife and caring for his horses and pets. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Faye Harris Monk, (they were married August 16, 1959 in Fort Pierce, FL); two sons and daughter-in-law, Brad Monk of Cookeville, Greg and Ann Bright Monk of Chattanooga, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Brenda Monk of Valdosta; and special cousins, Shirley Gibson, David Willis, and Bobby Willis. Funeral mass for Annamaria McCoy, 55 of Cookeville, will be held at the Dyer Funeral Home Monday, March 19 at 1:00pm. Annamaria passed peacefully in Cookeville on March 15, 2018. She was born in Conegliano, Italy on June 19, 1962. Annamaria was the President and Founder of St. Francis Animal Rescue, a non-profit, no-kill shelter that operated from 1999-2010, saving the lives of over 12,000 animals. She is survived by her Beloved Mother Zanin Bruna and aunts Zanin Fiorella and Zanin Silvia in Italy, and her only son James McCoy in America. The family will hold visitation directly before the funeral service at 11:00am.
