Mrs. Mary Helen Edwards, age 91 of Cookeville, died Friday, June 22, 2018, at her residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
Memorial services for Mrs. Jodie Bowman, 64, of Gainesboro, will be held at 7 P.M. on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funera l Home. The family has chosen cremation. She passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018, at her residence in Gainesboro. She was born June 5, 1954, in Gainesboro, to the late Tom Joe Bowman and Susan Elizabeth Bowman. She was a retired book keeper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Elizabeth Nichole “Nicki” Beach Chinoy. Survivors include her 2 Sons: Randy Beach and Andrew Grisham both of Gainesboro; and 2 Grandchildren: Kaya Brown of Interlachen, FL and Landon Grisham of Florida; and 3 Sisters: Kathy (David) Haynie of Tuscaloosa, AL, Peggy Bowman of Madison, AL, and Sandy (Donnie) Ragland of Gainesboro. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 until time of the service.
Funeral service for Mr. JD Brewington, age 84, of Cookeville, will be 11 a.m. Saturday June 23 at Dyer Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Daughrity officiating. Interment will follow in the West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls Community. Mr. Brewington passed away Thursday morning June 21, 2018 at his home. He was born December 7, 1933 in the Board Valley Community of White County, TN to the late Lonnie E. and Lula Mae Randolph Brewington. Mr. Brewington was an US Army veteran. He retired co-owner of the B & B Grill/Pool Room for 26 years. He was a very loving and caring person to all he met. He enjoyed farming, cattle, gardening, and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Callie Hazel Steward Brewington, who he married December 20, 1958 in Cookeville; two daughters, Debbie and Lisa Brewington, both of Cookeville; grandchildren, Kyle and Dustin Bilbrey, Brandon (Amanda) Henley, all of Cookeville, and Lacy (Jason) Stamps of Baxter; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Alex, and Braydon Henley, Emma, Morgan, and Jackson Stamps; five sisters, Byrda (Johnnie) Steward of Elkton, MD, Tootsie (Ralph) Dunn of Cookeville, Eulene Holmes of Cookeville, Willene (Harold) Jackson of Cookeville and Judy Hoskins of Cookeville; brother, Jimmy (Susan) Brewington of Houston, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Dimple Coffey; infant sister, Dorothy Jewell Brewington; and brother, Riley E. Brewington. Funeral services for James Darrell Frizzell, age 88, of Cookeville will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Randy Bybee officiating. Interment will follow in Shipley Cemetery. Mr. Frizzell passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He was born Monday, June 16, 1930 in Cookeville, to the late Raymond and Mary Vollie King Frizzell. James was a member of Shipley Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he received a purple heart from receiving injuries during his time of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Frizzell Martin Harris, and a brother, Charles Frizzell; one sister-in-law, Betty Frizzell and three brothers-in-law, Dale Martin, GS Harris and Jim Ryan. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Bean Frizzell of Cookeville; brothers, Harold Frizzell of Cookeville, and Ronnie Frizzell and wife Yvonne of Gallatin; sister, Bonnie Ryan of Texas and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Robbins passed from this life on Wednesday evening, June 20, 2018 from the Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga. She was born May 31, 1931 in Overton County to the late Benjamin “Ben” Franklin & Nona Pearl Langford Reeder. Bennie Ruth was a longtime member of the Livingston First Baptist Church. She worked for many years at Jenkins & Darwin on the Livingston Square, and later in life for Hutchinson in Livingston. Mrs. Bennie loved working outside in her yard, her flowers or her garden where she truly had a green thumb and a strong work ethic. She was known for helping others and took great joy in giving back. Mrs. Bennie Ruth leaves her sons, Rusty Robbins, and Jimmy Robbins, both of Livingston; grandchildren, Russ Robbins & wife Amanda, Kendall Robbins, Jennifer Robbins Hutson & husband Daniel, Jamie Barela, Amy Robbins, Kensley Robbins and Ramona Robbins Winningham; great grandchildren, Mikayla, Isaac, Alisa, Heston and Harper; great-great grandchildren, Matix and Chloe; also several loving nieces and nephews. Bonnie, enjoyed making wonderful works of art with her needle and thread. She loved her family and family was her life. Her biggest smiles was with her family around the dinner table. Funeral services for Mr. Henry M. “Red” Hampton 88, of Gainesboro, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County. He passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville. He was born July 17, 1929, in West Frankfort, Illinois, to the late Fred. E. Hampton and Ruby Jane Hampton. On March 14, 1950 he was married to the late Leatrice Joy Hampton, who passed away on August 10, 2009. He was an electrician. He loved being the candy man. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Church of God of Anderson, Indiana. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Brenda Hampton Golden; 1 Brother: Bill Hampton; and 2 Sisters: Bonnie Hampton and Imogene Hampton. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Debra (William) Nielson of Cary, IL and Wende Spivey of Gainesboro; 5 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren and 1 Sister: Rose Newman of West Frankfort, IL. He was born Sunday, June 04, 1944 in Michigan to Lewis K. and Nervie Dee Crowder Martin. Ronald worked at several factories in Cookeville and most recently enjoyed farming with his son. He is survived by his wife, Polly Pearson Martin; son, Stacy Martin and wife Sara of Cookeville; step-granddaughter, Christy Dunn and husband Lynn of Baxter; step-grandson, Tracy Stewart and friend Crystal; sister, Judy Mayberry and husband Dean of Cookeville; brother, Lewis K. Martin, Jr. and wife Barbara of Cookeville; brother-in-law, John C. Tim was born April 26, 1928 in Overton County to the late Donald Frank & Sylvia Catherine Crawford Pangle. Tim was a 1947 graduate of Livingston Academy. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Livingston. Tim loved all sports especially golf and football and his blood ran orange for the UT Vols. Tim was a big family man, who enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community of Jackson County. There will be a wake following the burial held at The River Community Church auditorium. She was born September 20, 1988, in Madison Heights, MI, to Arnold R. Trevathan and Lisa Trevathan. On March 7, 2015, she was married to Caleb Lang, who survives. She was a CNA with Avalon Hospice. She was active in the kindergarten Sunday School program at the River Community Church, and enjoyed photography and crafting. She also loved visiting Lake Superior. She loved and was loved by her family very much. She was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandfather: Alfred Gunnari; Paternal Great Grandmother: Mildred Hooten; her Husband’s Grandfather: Walter Lang; and her Husband’s Great Grandmother: Eva Hoover. Survivors include her Husband: Caleb Lang of Hilham; her Father: Arnold R. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Monroe passed from this life on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at his home. Monroe was born Wednesday, March 2, 1938 in Buffalo Valley, he was the son of the late Roy and Gladys(Rittenberry) Williams. Monroe worked very hard his entire life and very seldom missed a days work which allowed him to provide for his wife and eight children. He was a loving son, wonderful husband, caring dad and wonderful PaPa. Monroe loved his family but most especially his grandchildren. Whit is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Beth and George Wood; his son, Eric Whitaker; grandchildren, Chris Whitaker, Michelle Fairfield, and James Fairfield; along with an extended family of nieces, nephews and step-great-grandchildren – all of whom are grateful for his love.
