Reagon Ready To Lead Fentress County Sheriff’s Office

There’s a new sheriff in town in Fentress County.

Michael Reagan was sworn into office Tuesday morning. The county commission elected Reagan to the sheriff’s position after former sheriff Chucky Cravens pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges earlier this year.

Reagan has spent 22-years in law enforcement and said he’s ready to lead the department in a new direction.

“I’m trying to bring integrity back to the department to where everybody that sees a Fentress County tag won’ say hey stay away from that place,” Reagon said. “We’re trying to bring everything back like it needs to be. We want to serve Fentress County and make it a safe place for everybody so they can be glad to call it home.”

Reagan also said he plans to tackle the county’s drug problem and said state authorities were in the county this week working on a marijuana investigation.

He also plans to hire some additional staff and recently decided to eliminate the position of chief deputy.
