As summer ends, school personnel head back to class to prepare for the students arrival next week.
Putnam County is the first Upper Cumberland county to return to class. Schools Director Jerry Boyd said teachers and staff started Wednesday with the annual convocation.
“All of our teachers and district staff were at Prescott South and we were all in there together focusing on what we need to focus on for the school year,” Boyd said.
After the convocation, teachers went to their schools for training and meetings, Boyd said.
Putnam County’s first day of school is Monday. Students will dismiss at 10 a.m. The first full day of school is Tuesday, Aug. 1.
