Putnam Seniors Wrap Up ACT Retake Day

Putnam County Seniors took part in about four hours of ACT testing during Senior Retake Day Tuesday.

Upperman High School Assistant Principal and Testing Coordinator Bree Wheeler said students have been prepping by taking practice tests and using an online testing tool.

Wheeler said now that the testing is over, students will wait about four to six weeks for their results. She said students have the opportunity to take ACT tests monthly until they achieve their desired scores.

“Sometimes we have a couple of seniors that will try to take one more test before college registration closes to see if they can bump that score up a little more,” Wheeler said. “So it really depends on their post-secondary aspirations if a student wants to try to test more.”

Wheeler said ACT testing is offered to Putnam students twice a year at no cost. She said the tests are offered first to juniors and seniors in March, and to seniors again in October for retests.
