Putnam Seeking Community Input For Road Improvement Plan

Putnam County seeking community input that could be used to alleviate heavy traffic.

The survey is a part of a TDOT grant studying Pippin and County Farm Roads from West Jackson over to Gainesboro Grade. Mayor Randy Porter said the end result will give options for future renovations or alternate routes.

Porter said an engineering company will then use the input to create a improvement plan. Porter said options such as widening Highway 70 or extending Tennessee Avenue to Gainesboro grade have been explored.

The county was awarded the grant due to the growing traffic issues of the targeted areas. Porter said the survey can be found on the county’s website. It will be available until February.

Porter said the last traffic survey like this saw more than 1,400 entries.
