Putnam Schools Pre-Registration Closing On Friday

Students who were homeschooled due to COVID and plan to return to the Putnam County School System need to re-register.

The pre-registration window for Putnam County Schools is set to close on Friday at 3:00 PM. Attendance Supervisor Chris Pierce said that families just need to make contact by phone or email with their former or current school to begin the process.

“It really helps the school and the county to figure out who is coming back, it helps us with teacher numbers for next year,” Pierce said. “To help allocate resources and things of that nature, when parents can pre-register at an early time.”

Pierce said the system will have a better picture of how many students are returning to Putnam County Schools when pre-registration ends and when virtual enrollment closes at the tentative date of July 1.

Pierce said that if families still have questions about returning from home schooling, they can contact him at (931) 526-9777. He said remote learning families can also make contact with their school through a data verification form that was emailed to them last week.
