Putnam County Schools has passed a budget.
Preliminary budgets had a $4 million gap, a space between the amount of services the board hoped to provide and the amount of money they had.
The Putnam County Board of Education met Tuesday and eliminated enough services to narrow that gap to $1 million, then voted to use reserve funding to cover the remaining gap.
The new budget includes a 2 percent salary increase for teachers and support staff and five new teaching positions.
