Putnam School System Looking For Summer Activity Instructors

The Putnam County School System is looking for SAC Activity Instructor candidates to help with kids during the summer.

School Age Care Program Coordinator Krista Hamilton said many kids need this care while their parents work during school vacation. Hamilton said that candidates will oversee crafts, games and more over each week of the summer.

“Anyone that enjoys being around children, someone that’s got a lot of energy and creativity,” Hamilton said. “We have a lot of employees that are education majors from Tech and they’re really awesome employees because they are learning the skills that they would use in a classroom.”

Hamilton said they would love for SAC Activity Instructors to start now and be able to work through the fall. Hamilton said that anyone interested in applying just needs to visit the Putnam County Schools’ website and look under the employment tab.

“This summer our program will have a different theme each week, so we’ll have activities that go along with those themes,” Hamilton said. “So instructors would be responsible for having a craft that goes with the theme or playing a game in the gym that goes with that. They might do cooking activities or we might do outside plays.”

School Age Care Activity Instructors do before and after school childcare, as well as the full-day programs during holidays and breaks. Hamilton said the SAC program is about creating a safe and caring space for kids while their parents are at work.
