The idea of Putnam County Schools creating a centralized CTE building not a priority at this time.
The suggestion came up in a school board work session earlier this year. Director of Schools Corby King said the system has other projects to focus on at this time.
“That’s kind of been put on the back burner,” King said. “The cost of construction and everything that’s going on right now just trying to get the Park View School off the ground and looking at the VITAL facility. We do have quite a bit funds coming into the CTE Department this year. Everybody hears about that from the state.”
King said the district is getting additional funding for more CTE positions. King said without the centralized facility, they will be placed at the high schools where space is available.
“Right now, it is something that we can not move forward with,” King said. “The cost of construction and everything costs too much right now.”
King said the building would still be a nice addition sometime in the future.
