Schools Bidding Parking Lot Repaint During Summer

The Putnam County Schools soliciting bids for the striping and repainting of parking spaces throughout the district.

Deputy Director Tim Martin said it is a part of the routine maintenance that the district performs each year. Martin said they will check every school to see which ones need the most repainting.

“Obviously our high schools have more parking than anywhere else, although we do have some visitor parking at all of our schools, and so we’ll go around and just repaint those lines in the parking lot,” Martin said.

Martin said they are not always able to repaint at every school each summer, but they will do as much as they can. He said they always wait until the summer to do any major projects on the district’s parking lots.

The bid includes striping of lines and handicapped parking spaces. Martin said they will also periodically seal the parking lots, although he did not say any sealing was planned for this summer.

“I think Cookeville High School’s coming up in the next year or so,” Martin said. “That one’ll be a really big job.”
