Putnam School Board Chair Named TSBA Interim District Director

Putnam County School Board Chair Kim Cravens named the Interim TSBA District Director for the Upper Cumberland Region.

She replaces White County School Board Member Jayson McDonald. McDonald was elected as TSBA Treasurer leaving a year left on the term. Cravens said she accepted the position to complete the term.

“It helps give you a connection to other school board members across the state, and then plus, keeps you closely connected to the 16 counties that are a part of the Upper Cumberland District,” Cravens said.

Cravens said she looks forward to serving in the role. Cravens said she anticipates the third grade retention law will be the center of many discussions moving forward.

Cravens said she is unsure if she will run for the director position when the election comes fall of next year.
