Putnam County reported some $6.1 million in building permits issued during the month of July.
The 44 permits puts the month behind only June, 2020 for most construction permits in the county’s history. The July number includes 30 new single family residential permits. Five are homes being rebuilt from the tornado.
“New construction in Putnam County continues to be very strong with most contractors scheduled out for at least one year and some of them two years,” Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter said.
The numbers do not include structures built inside the municipal limits of the cities inside Putnam County.
