Putnam Health Department Thankful And Excited For Continued Financial Support

Putnam County Health Department excited to move forward with upgrades after receiving additional funding commitment.

The original project bids came in significant;y over budget. However, the county and state have put in more money.

Director Lisa Bumbalough said it will help cover the facility’s new 4,200-square-foot clinical wing. She said it will also help cover the portion of a 1,500-square-foot medical storage addition and loading dock expansion.

“Our medical supplies and equipment secure sufficient storage obviously so we will get to see that expansion and relocation of the loading dock additional,” Bumbalough said. “And we’re really excited because we know that project is important as well.”

Bumbalough said being able to separate well patients from actively sick patients is of huge importance to the health department. She said having the additional space and a more specified treatment process will also help to speed up the department’s efficiency.

Bumbalough said this project would not be possible without the continued support of the state and county governments.

“We have been looking forward to this expansion,” Bumbalough said. “And every day we’re evaluating prevention measures to help keep our patients and the public well and just to ensure that positive and pleasant experience when they visit us. So being able to offer a new wing that will allow us to separate the sick and the well customers with a separate entrance is going to be a really good thing for everyone involved.”
