Putnam County Habitat for Humanity will dedicate it’s 76th home on Sunday.
It’s being called “the house that gumbo built” because it’s the 9th home that’s been funded by Habitat’s Cooking on the Square event.
“It’s so special because it’s a time to celebrate with the family and all they have gone through to get to this point,” Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Pam Ealey said. “It’s also a time to recognize all the volunteers that work so hard behind the scenes. Many help build the homes, but we have volunteers involved with our work on a daily basis that may never go into a home.”
Sunday’s home dedication will take place at 2 p.m. at the new West End neighborhood. That neighborhood will eventually be the site of 52 Habitat homes. Sunday’s dedication will mark the 4th completed home in the neighborhood.
