Putnam Firefighters Battle House Fire Monday

Putnam County firefighters worked quickly to put out a house fire Monday evening.

Chief Tom Brown said the fire happened at a home on Forrest Hill Road and that crews managed to but out the blaze within 10 minutes.

Brown said the fire started in the crawl space of the home and worked its way up a wall. The cause is believed to be and electrical issue and damage to the home is an estimated $1,000.
