Putnam Fire Crews On Scene At Bruce Ridge Road Fire For Three Hours

A total loss of a structure after a fire located at 616 Bruce Ridge Road in western Putnam County Tuesday morning.

Putnam County Fire Chief Tom Brown said firefighters were dispatched around 5:44 this morning to respond to an “unknown fire,” either a structure fire or a brush fire. He said when they arrived on the scene it was both.

“It can go one of two ways and I don’t think we’ll determine which,” “It could have started as a brush fire and ignited the building or it could have started in the building and ignited the brush fire. With the damage that is there, it’s going to be really hard to tell.”

Brown said the cause of the fire will ultimately be left undetermined.

Brown said the items inside the shop building, including tools and other materials were completely lost. He said there were several vehicles around the building, some of which burned and some of which did not.

Brown said crews were on scene for about three hours. He said there were no injuries.
