Putnam FD Responds To Fire On Jack Lewis Road Tuesday Morning

Putnam County Fire Department responded to a fire just outside of Baxter on Jack Lewis Road Tuesday morning.

Chief Tom Brown said the Baxter Fire Department was the first to arrive on the scene at 5 a.m. He said the location of the fire did not have a specific address.

“It was a single-wide trailer fully-involved,” Brown said. “Turns out nobody was there, it was not occupied and vacant and had no power, so because of that the cause of the fire is under investigation.”

Brown said the trailer had been put there to remodel and the owner never got back to it. He said the fire resulted in a total loss.

Brown said the owners were made aware of the fire and were also on the scene this morning. He said there were no injuries.
