The Putnam County election commission will hold a special meeting to discuss new voting technology.
The meeting will take place at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the election commission office.
Election Administrator Debbie Steidl said Poll Pads could speed up the registration process at the polls.
The technology allows registrars to quickly look up voting information, without searching through giant books with tiny lines of print.
Wednesday, commissioners will see a presentation on the Poll Pads. They may vote on the purchase of four to test.
“The election commissioners wanted to see it in front of them, of course and know how it works, just have a better feel for it before they voted on something that potentially could cost a lot of money,” Steidl said.
The meeting is open to the public.
