Putnam County Election Commission accepted names for the November ballot at its monthly meeting Friday morning.
These include individuals running for the vacant Putnam County Commission District 9 seat, Putnam County Register of Deeds and candidates at the state level.
The Republican candidate for District 9 County Commission will be Robert Riddle. Barbara Meyers will be on the ballot for the seat in the Democratic Party. Independent candidate Tim Terry will also be on the ballot.
For Register of Deeds, two independent candidates are running including Jennifer Flatt and Ben Herron. Tim “Tree” McPherson is running for the Democratic Party, and Republicans have endorsed John Sanders.
Commissioners also accepted a referendum to be put on the ballot that would allow Algood stores to sell wine.
In other business, commissioners approved voting hours for the November election. The early voting hours were set for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday hours will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Election Day hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
