The help of law enforcement from as far away as Indiana and Ohio providing some rest for weary Putnam County responders who have been at it since 2am Tuesday morning.
“We’ve been able to do some shift work and send some of our guys home,” Sheriff Eddie Farris said. “We know this is going to be a lengthy process so we’ve been able to get some rest.”
Law enforcement and emergency personnel from the adjoining counties have also aided in the work. Farris said 21 different law-enforcement agencies have come to Cookeville to assist. That number does not include other rescue and safety personnel.
