Putnam County Inmate Found Dead in Holding Cell

An inmate at the Putnam County Jail was found dead in his cell early Tuesday morning.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, 58-year-old Donald Ray Garrison was found unresponsive by a corrections officer during a routine check.

PCSO states Garrison likely died of natural causes. His body is being sent to the State Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine his cause of death.

Garrison’s death is currently under investigation.
