Putnam County Commission Implements iPads For Meeting Use

Putnam County Commissioners think the implementation of iPads to use during commission meetings will be a benefit moving forward.

District 7 Commissioner Grover Bennett said that he believes the move is a good step forward.

“Everybody’s going to have the information might in front of them you don’t have to worry about printing it off, forgetting it at home, it’s here,” Bennett said. “In fact, I was talking to another commissioner we’d like to see if we can advance it to where we can vote on them, that way you can see what your vote is.”

District 2 Commissioner Ron Chaffin said it helps to make the information more accessible to commissioners.

“It gives us more ability to see what all we’ve got to talk about,” Chaffin said. “Everything’s here. We don’t have to bring anything with us, it’s all right here. I think they’re great.”

District 2 Commissioner Sam Sandlin said going from one term on the commission without iPads to the new implementation, he thinks it will improve efficiency.

District 8 Commissioner Ben Rodgers said it’s great to see Putnam County progress in this manner and into the 21st century.

“We have some more seasoned folks on the commission that may not be accustomed to the iPad, but they did great,” Rodgers said. “They asked questions when they needed to, and they did great. So it’s efficiency.”
